This little guy couldn't wait to make his mark on the world and arrived 5 weeks early, weighing only 2.1kgs (4lbs 6oz). After some observations and monitoring it was discovered that Andre had Trisomy 21 features (flat nose ridge, extra neck skin folds and almond shaped eyes) and a blood test confirmed this; it wasn't something we expected but it was something that we were 100% accepting of and we spent the next two weeks educating ourselves about T21 and connected with some support agencies who were amazing.

Andre spent 18 days in the NICU where it was also discovered that he had a heart murmur which was due to a Atrial Ventricular Septal Defect which will be monitored by paediatric cardiologists as he grows but isn't causing too many issues for him now.

We love our wee dude with all our heart and soul and wouldn't change him for the world, but we would change the world for him. He is a huge blessing and we are so excited to watch him grow into an incredible man.
