Whether it’s bringing the whole family (and their beautiful service dog 🐾) down to our free events, packing up and heading on tour with us down south just to volunteer, jumping in the pool to swim laps for our Grom Team at the 24 Hour Swim, or even celebrating a family birthday party through our Surf Experience program… you guys embody Ocean Heroes to the fullest extent!

Filmed down at Brighton beach during a typical day at , we speak to our amazing program coordinator Louis!

For our first episode, we talk about the bread and butter of our programs, our Starboards!

From giving extra stability for our first-time surfers to helping participants feel confident in the water, these big boards aren’t just equipment, they’re confidence builders, adventure starters, and sometimes even magic carpets for our Ocean Heroes 🌊✨

Less than a year after a life-saving liver transplant (which his body initially rejected) our long-time friend and legendary Bondi Beach Lifeguard is attempting a mammoth record-breaking 24-hour continuous swim.

🏊‍♂️ This March, Quinno will swim non-stop between the North & South end of his beautiful home beach at Bondi.

🙋‍♂️Why? A two-fold mission:
1️⃣ To raise awareness for organ donation and transplant recovery through &
2️⃣ To raise vital funds for helping neurodivergent kids experience the confidence-building joy of riding a wave.

From fighting for his own life, to swimming for so many others…Your resilience and selflessness is absolutely inspirational, Quinno! 🙌

🙌 What a weekend in the South West! 🙌

Margaret River and Dunsborough, you’ve done it again! With awesome conditions at Redgate Beach, we were treated to absolute magic in the water! From perfect waves and sunny skies to a carpark full of smiles, it was the best way to kick off our 2026 South West Tour 🌊

The weather stayed on for our SUP session the following day, and nothing could wipe the stoke off the faces of the volunteers and participants who showed up ready to give it a crack 🔥

To our incredible local volunteers, thank you for welcoming us and sharing your weekend with our community 💙 And to our Perth crew who made the annual trip down south, we’re so grateful for your time, energy and commitment. This tour is always something special because of you 🫶

📣 Bondi does it best! From “best ever” whispers post-event to parental praise - “The best thing to happen for my son.” Everyone was flying high this past weekend…and for good reason!

Thanks to a record turnout of volunteers, 80 neurodivergent frothers came down to enjoy all that Bondi has to offer and the Sydney beach did not disappoint! ☀️ 🌊

We lapped up the sunshine, small swells and smiles, leaving the beach more joyous than we found it. It was a vibe and people couldn’t help but look on in awe! 🤩

🏄‍♀️ What better way to kick things off this year in the North than with a paddle with your mates in Ballina!

Ocean Heroes is coming back to Ballina to spark off the season on the 28th of Feb and we’re fully fizzing to get amongst it with you all. 😝

We’d love to see our regular volleys down on the sand all over again, so if you reckon you’d love to spend the day spreading smiles and stoke across participants and their families faces, we’ve got you covered!

If you haven’t volunteered with us before and are keen to come down, please don’t be shy! There is a spot for everyone regardless of ability in the surf.
