Low GI, high five! Unlike regular honey, our Western Australian Jarrah and Marri varieties have a higher fructose-to-glucose ratio, making them naturally lower Gl.

What is Low GI? The Glycaemic Index (GI) measures how quickly foods raise your blood sugar. Low-Gl foods release energy slowly and steadily, helping you stay balanced, focused and energised for longer.

To experience less spikes and dips in energy, less brain fog, fewer cravings for sugary snacks and an improvement to your overall mood - introducing Low GI meals into your day is a fantastic habit to adopt.

Tip: For a great start to the day, give sourdough toast with avocado + Marri or Jarrah bioactive honey a go! This is a well rounded meal full of healthy fats and natural sweetness to kickstart your day.

Let’s recap on why our Ultra Jarrah is in fact, ULTRA ⭐️💪🏼

When we talk about Active Honey, we’re referring to its natural antibacterial and antifungal power. This power is measured using something called a Total Activity Rating (TA). The higher the TA, the stronger the honey’s ability to fight off bacteria.

A TA rating of 10 or higher means the honey has beneficial properties. A rating of TA30+? That’s exceptional—and you’ll only find that level of natural power in a select few honeys around the world.

We are proud to offer premium Western Australian honey with some of the highest TA values ever recorded up to TA70+ … hello ULTRA!

The made-by-hand craftsmanship is not lost on us!

As well as raw honey, bee pollen and honeycomb, HFL also creates premium beeswax. Beeswax is one of nature’s most versatile products which can be used in your home, beauty routine and much more!

Create your own lip balms, hand creams or deodorants; use it for shaping beards, making candles or our personal favourite, making eco-friendly surfboard wax.

As you can see, our 1kg beeswax blocks (melted down from the 10kg slabs in the video) are hand poured with meticulous attention to detail by our wonderful team. Premium quality is everything to us.

The busy ensemble that creates The Theatre of Nature!

The honey bee is nature’s tiny dramatist. Loud & performative. Every wingbeat is a proclamation of devotion to their craft. Every drop of honey, an act of brilliance. This is true theatre 💃🏽🐝

Even though a bee’s brain is smaller than a sesame seed, the bee can solve complex problems, remember landmarks and communicate through a ‘waggle’ dance. Tiny, yet genuis.

Our Story

Since late 2016 our humble honey company has been hard at work establishing Manuka honey plantations on regenerated farmland across Western Australia’s South West region. We’re continually increasing our area under plantation year-by-year, aiming to become one of Australia’s leading suppliers of Manuka honey in the near future.

In 2019 Honey For Life purchased one of Western Australia’s leading commercial beekeeping operations Davies Apiaries which was established some 40 years ago. With a state-of-the-art extraction facility and 900 beehives, we’ve been hard at work expanding this operation ever since.

We also produce some of Australia’s most sought-after honey, which includes Active Jarrah, Karri and Red Gum. These varietals are all unique to Western Australia’s South West region, and we feel so lucky to be able to share them with you.
