This week's episode of 'Who Do You Think You Are' on SBS Australia featured Justin Hodges as he worked to uncover his Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
The episode is extremely poignant, especially during NAIDOC week, as it is such a clear demonstration of the importance of uncovering and understanding ones ties to our ancestors, heritage and culture.

I highly recommend that you watch the episode online if you missed it and also take a look at the episodes on Uncle Jack Charles (season 12, episode 5), Troy Cassar-Daley (season 11, episode 8), Casey Donovan (season 10, episode 5), Ernie Dingo (season 9, episode 7) and Adam Goodes (season 6, episode 6). These are some of my favourites as they really explore their journeys to understanding their Aboriginality and the elders who have gone before.

Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! 🖤💛❤️

NAIDOC Week 2022 runs from Sunday July 3 to Sunday July 10 and is an incredible opportunity to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

I feel privileged to have helped several people discover previously unknown Aboriginality and assist them in linking to relevant services to learn more.
So many people lost the knowledge of their family tree because of the Stolen Generation, it's time to make sure everyone gets this back!

I was happy to help Relic Custodians Australia last year to find the living descendants of W. G. Sandilands and have this ID tag returned 🥳
My research services do not only have to extend backwards into your Ancestry, I can also assist you in locating & contacting living people too!

Notice on the left tag there is a D stamped above the N and the I? I think this was suppose to be Sandilands maybe an ancestor of Aaron Sandilans that played for the Freo Dockers.
