Most of the ‘tightness’ I feel in sessions isn’t just muscle. This will blow your mind 🤯 .Let me explain.

A lot of the time when someone says
“My hips are so tight”
“My back always feels stiff”
“I stretch but it doesn’t change”

…it isn’t just the muscle.

Your nervous system plays a huge role.

Your body is constantly deciding how much movement it will allow. If it senses stress, fatigue, past injury, or a need to create stability, it may create protective tension to keep you safe.

So what feels like “tight muscles” can actually be your nervous system putting the brakes on movement.

This is something I see often in sessions, especially with people who:

• Sit a lot for work
• Train hard but never feel loose
• Have old injuries or surgeries
• Are under constant stress
• Are navigating hormonal shifts, poor sleep, or fatigue

The body isn’t broken.
It’s responding and protecting.

Sometimes what feels like tightness is actually the body signalling it needs more stability and support, not just more stretching.

That’s why stretching harder doesn’t always solve it.

When we work with the body — the fascia, joints, breath, and nervous system — things begin to shift.

The same hip that felt “tight”…
starts to move more freely.

The back that felt stiff…
begins to soften.

Because when the body feels supported and stable, it no longer needs to guard as much — and movement becomes easier again. ✨

I was born with hip dysplasia, which means my hip socket didn’t fully form the way it should. As I grew, it developed into Perthes disease — a childhood condition where the blood supply to the head of the femur is temporarily disrupted, affecting how the bone develops.

As a baby, I travelled to Canada for my first hip surgery.

When I was 11, I came to Australia to visit family and had a review on my hip. It turned out I needed another surgery the following year. At 12, I had a triple osteotomy — my pelvis was repositioned to better support my hip joint, secured with a plate and three pins. After surgery, I went back to Zimbabwe for rehab.

That’s where I was introduced to Pilates.

It made a huge difference. I felt stronger, more stable, and more confident in my body. What started as rehab became something I genuinely loved — and it stayed with me.

Over time, that experience led me to study Pilates, then fascial stretch therapy and bodywork. Everything I offer clients today is rooted in what helped me through my own recovery and ongoing care.

I understand what it’s like to navigate pain, surgery, and rebuilding strength. I also know how powerful the right support and education can be.

The way I work isn’t just clinical — it’s informed by lived experience.

And that’s why I care so much about helping people move well, feel strong, and trust their bodies again.

Fascia connects everything. Which means the body rarely plays fair.

• Pain in your feet can show up as imbalance or pain in the pelvis
• A tight psoas can contribute to jaw tension, headaches, or neck pain
• Shoulder pain might trace back to rib restriction or breathing patterns
• Low back pain can start with stiff ankles or hips

The body works as one intelligent system, not isolated parts.

So when we only treat where it hurts, we often miss why it hurts.

This is why fascia-focused work looks at:
✔️ global tension patterns
✔️ movement compensation
✔️ how one area is overworking for another

Relief comes when the body reconnects and redistributes load — not when we chase symptoms.

Your pain is real.

Went to and honestly… so amazing 🤯

Seeing the body in motion, layer by layer — muscles, fascia, joints, organs — is next level. It’s such a powerful reminder that the body isn’t made of separate parts, it’s one intelligent, connected system constantly adapting and responding.

For anyone curious about how we move, feel, heal and function, BODY WORLDS: The Anatomy of Happiness is such a cool, eye-opening experience. Educational, fascinating and deeply humbling.
