At ANIMA Health Network, we are a proudly neuroaffirming, trauma informed, and queer-friendly practice. Our Director Ozgur Oz Yalcin was a co-author on a recently published article that focused on understanding early maladaptive schemas, complex PTSD and therapeutic adaptations for Autistic and ADHD individuals. Importantly, they highlighted the importance of the need to change the narrative so that as a society, we can be more inclusive and make lasting positive change!

Visit our website: anima.com.au, or contact our friendly patient care team at hello@anima.com.au to discuss how our clinical psychologists can help you feel empowered in your life, and our suite of assessment services, including for , , and for children and adults (ages 5 and over).

Talk about lucky! What an incredible privilege it was to have Dr Sarah Schubert present the first in-house PD of the year at ANIMA Health Network on "Dissociation: Understanding ones' Internal World." The team learned so much, including how critical it is to understand dissociation in the context of effectively treating PTSD and complex trauma (including with the use of EMDR).

If you are keen to find out more about dissociation and receive training in EMDR, we would encourage you to check out Sarah's 2025 training dates on her website: https://lnkd.in/gUwTAGmt

Thank you again for the incredible work you do for the EMDR community and for sharing your wisdom with us!

Sadness is often overlooked but plays a crucial role in our emotional lives. While prolonged or intense sadness may be a sign of a deeper issue, it is important to recognise that sadness is a natural part of life. It helps us process and build emotional resilience. It’s okay to feel sad, and embracing these emotions is part of being human.

However, if sadness lasts for an extended period, interferes with you daily life, or feels overwhelming, it’s important to seek support. Our psychologists are here to help you explore your emotions and develop healthy and effective coping strategies. If you’re wanting to gain a better understanding of what you’re feeling, please do not hesitate to contact our patient care team via email: hello@anima.com.au or phone: 08 9381 8868

EMDR therapy words by targeting the root of trauma, helping reprocess distressing experienced and changing how they are stored in the brain. This process often leads to lasting relief from symptoms of PSTD, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. At ANIMA, our team of skilled clinical psychologists are trained in this evidence-based approach to trauma recovery. If you believe EMDR could benefit you, and you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to contact our Patient Care Team via email: hello@anima.com.au or by phone: 08 9381 8868.

Fear is a natural and protective human emotion, designed to keep us safe and alert to potential danger. However, when fear becomes overwhelming, it can hinder one’s ability to take risks and experience new things. While fear is essential for survival, it’s important that it doesn’t control our lives.

Our team of compassionate psychologists can help you explore and understand your fears in a safe and supportive environment. Together you can develop strategies to manage your fears, turning them into opportunities for growth and strength. To learn more, please reach out to our patient care team via email: hello@anima.com.au or phone: 08 9281 8868
