Should I consider a GP Job in Rockingham or Mandurah?
I was speaking with a GP in London who is evaluating their General Practitioner Job options in Australia.
They mentioned that a friend of a friend had seen online that a GP recently moved from the NHS to Mandurah wasn’t fully booked in their first weeks after commencement – begging the question “Should I consider a GP Job in Rockingham / Mandurah?”
We’ve seen constant high demand in this area for GPs to join practices large and small over the last 10 years. There’s been high population growth, GP retirements, some natural movement, and an increase in demand for services as the population has more primary healthcare needs.
Mandurah a coastal DPA location on the edge of Perth Metro. Growing population of 100,000.
An hour drive or train to Perth CBD. Less if you choose to live in the popular Canning Vale, Fremantle, Cockburn or Como.
Many people just live in Mandurah on the coast, on the canals, or in a nearby rural setting like Pinjarra.
Its worth noting that governments and business are investing heavily over the long term in the southern sector of Perth Metro. It’s going to be remarkable to watch how the face of this area will change in the coming years and decades when considering the new Port, green iron ore development, and AUKUS.
