The Sardine Diet involves consuming sardines as your only food source for three days. I generally do not recommend exclusion diets such as this, however, this can be helpful as a way to increase consumption of healthy fats, and protein and to reset blood sugar levels of you have a diet with highly processed foods. Choose sardines with olive oil or spring water, and add fibre (as pictured). Swap out the sardines with salmon and other types of tinned fish, choosing local affordable brands - the cheap ones are not always palatable! Be aware that you may experience symptoms as blood sugar stabilises and as always consult your GP for any diet related health issues or symptoms. 🐠🐠🐠🐠

Are you healthy? It was once thought that being of good health meant being free of disease. Consequently, we have many tests and measurements for health disease, but not so many for measuring good health!

DEXA Scan is the gold standard of body composition measurement. DEXA provides a baseline measurement for body composition which can help guide and monitor progress towards your health goals. It provides details of bone mineral density and visceral fat levels, compared to age standards, to assist in early identification of risk factors for a range of health problems.

Through this special offer, in conjunction with Trench Health and Fitness, we provide two DEXA scans (at a discounted rate), 3-6 months apart, providing a baseline and accurate and evidence-based measurement of your progress.

Be a health(y) skeptic!

Here’s example of why understanding how to read food labels is important. The product on the left is 100 calories per 100g with 80% of those calories coming from sugar, despite the product being mostly cucumbers and vinegar (which contain very few calories).

The product on the right, manufactured by the same company has 17 calories per 100g of product and no added sugar. Calories from sugar for this product is 4%.
