Happy World Health Day!
Health isn’t just physical - your mental wellbeing matters too. Stress, sleep, and emotional balance all play a crucial role in feeling your best.
Today is a reminder to check in with yourself, prioritise self-care, and reach out for support when needed. Small steps now can have a big impact on your overall health.
Your mental health is part of your health - nurture it every day.

You don’t need to earn rest this long weekend ☀️
Rest can look different for everyone. It might be an earlier night, a slower morning, a quiet afternoon, or choosing not to fill every moment. However it looks for you, it is still worthwhile.
Sleep and rest are not things we need to “deserve” once everything else is finished. They are part of caring for our mental and physical wellbeing. This long weekend, we hope you can find a little space to unwind, recharge, and be gentle with yourself.

Please note that our clinic will be closed from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April for the Easter long weekend.
This can be a helpful time to pause, rest, and recharge - something we know is so important for overall wellbeing. If you have any enquiries during this time, our team will respond as soon as possible when we return.
Wishing you and your loved ones a safe, peaceful, and happy Easter.

Our Quarter 1 newsletter is here.
January to March has been a busy start to the year across the clinic, with new blogs, new clinicians joining the team, expanded services, and even a new website.
It’s been great to see things continue to grow and evolve, and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead.
ADHD isn’t just about being hyperactive or easily distracted - it’s a brain-based difference that affects attention, impulsivity, and organisation in unique ways for each person.
Recognising the signs of ADHD, busting common myths, and understanding how it impacts daily life can help you build practical strategies that work for you, reduce self-criticism and embrace your strengths, and access support that’s personalised to your needs.
Whether you’re an adult navigating work and relationships, or a parent supporting a child, understanding ADHD is the first step toward thriving, not just coping.
Need guidance? Our psychologists provide assessment and strategies to help you harness your strengths and manage challenges.
Reon is a Clinical Psychologist (Registrar) working with teens (14+) and adults, supporting clients to better understand their experiences, build practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful goals.
He takes a warm, collaborative, and tailored approach to therapy—creating a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to make lasting change.
Reon supports a range of concerns including anxiety, low mood, stress, life transitions, sleep difficulties, confidence, and performance-related challenges.
He draws primarily on CBT and ACT, integrating other evidence-based approaches to suit each individual’s needs.

Today is Close the Gap Day — an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing work needed to achieve equity in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
“Closing the gap” is not just a policy goal, but a shared responsibility. It asks us to look closely at how care is accessed, delivered, and experienced, and to consider where inequities still exist.
In our work, this means being mindful of:
• creating culturally safe and respectful environments
• listening to and learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, histories, and stories
• recognising the broader social, historical, and systemic factors that shape health
Today — and every day — we remain committed to ongoing reflection, learning, and action.
Our Clinical Psychologists are welcoming new adult clients at our Como and West Perth clinics.
If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for support with sleep, anxiety, stress, or other mental health concerns, this could be a good time to start.

Happy Neurodivergent Celebration Week! 🌟
Neurodiversity reminds us that there’s no single way to think, learn, or experience the world. Every brain is unique, and every perspective brings value.
This week, we celebrate differences in thinking, attention, memory, and learning, as well as the creativity, resilience, and innovation that neurodivergent individuals contribute every day.
At J&R, we support neurodivergent individuals of all ages with tailored strategies, assessments, and guidance, helping you thrive in a world built for neurotypical norms. Because understanding your strengths and needs isn’t a limitation - it’s empowerment.

Every day, your brain juggles memory, focus, problem-solving, and decision-making, often without you even noticing. Small changes in these areas can quietly affect work, relationships, confidence, and daily routines.
A brief cognitive assessment gives you a snapshot of how your brain is functioning, highlighting both strengths and areas that might benefit from support. It can provide insight, clarity, and practical strategies to help you feel more confident and in control.
Whether you’re noticing subtle shifts in memory with age, or are feeling mentally slower after accident, stress or illness, or just want a baseline for your cognitive health, understanding how your brain is performing is a proactive step toward wellbeing.
Our clinical neuropsychologist at J&R Psych can offer a brief cognitive assessment and help you gain clarity about your thinking, focus, and memory.
