The under 16's social media ban starts today. A ban will not reduce risk, it will reduce visibility and make marginalised young people more isolated.
Today, Australia’s under-16 social media ban comes into effect, and it exposes a generational blind spot: the people regulating young people’s digital lives never grew up inside the digital world they’re policing.

For neurodivergents who don't have the privilege of being able to adapt their own work/school environment, or to change settings and hours to accommodate sensitivity to light, noise, etc., show this to your boss. 💜
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder is a neurological condition that affects the brain's ability to regulate focus and emotion. While the name suggests a deficit of attention, University of Queensland researcher Kate Witteveen says many participants in a recent study she led reported feeling as though it was more like an "excess of attention".
Dr Witteveen says the number of adults being diagnosed is "definitely on the rise" in Australia, with women the fastest growing group of adults being diagnosed with ADHD.
The Australian Counselling Association has published some new info around qualification requirements, ethics and practice. If you have accessed counselling services through Creative Minds Art Therapy, or are interested, have a lookie! Hopefully, this is a small step closer to having Medicare subsidies. Private Health subsidies continue to be available through most funds, for face to face or online sessions. Feel free to send a msg if you have any questions!
The Australian Counselling Association (ACA) welcomes the formal endorsement of the National Standards for Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Australia by the Minister of Health, Disability and Ageing, the Hon. Mark Butler MP.

Matters of the heart can be messy and chaotic — full of colour, texture, and complexity. Flip a heart upside down, and it looks like a bum.. For anyone whose heart is hurting, remember: emotions are temporary. Exploring through creativity shows us that healing can hold both humour and depth. 💖

If you have ADHD and hate mornings — it’s not just you, and it’s not your fault.
New research shows many of us have later body clocks, making mornings tough. It’s biological, not just habit. As an art therapist with ADHD, I believe we need to work with our rhythms, not against them.
