The DOMS are real for me right now...After having 2 weeks off training and coming back from COVID, I'm reminding myself to take some time to recover for the rest of the week.

What that means for me...

πŸ‘‰ Early nights. 7-9 hours sleep.
πŸ‘‰ Getting my 10k steps in each day. Blood flow to the muscles is far more effective for recovery than stretching (in my opinion)
πŸ‘‰ Hitting my protein target and getting in lots of fruit and veg.

Takeaway...

You can not adapt to what you can not recover from. Rest as hard as you train.πŸ˜‰

Are you always sore?

Maybe it's time for a rest day?πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Just dropping in to let you know that...

One of the coolest things about diet and exercise, is that if you tick the boxes, you'll get the results...πŸ‘Œ

And there aren't many things in life that are like that.

If you put in the work...If you create a calorie deficit, you will lose fat...End of story!

If you stimulate muscle and give your body the right nutrients, you will build muscle...End of!

You really just have to have your efforts placed in the right corner and then trust the process!

My point is...

Focus on the process and the outcomes will take care of themselves. πŸ™ŒπŸ˜˜

BUT, it's not the lower body fat % that makes you more confident.

The way I see it...The relationship between being in shape and confidence, has little to do with how you look, and a lot to do with achieving something hard.πŸ‘Š

Like most things...It's the PROCESS, not the OUTCOME that is important.πŸ˜‰

The confidence comes from showing up for yourself.πŸ‘Œ

From telling yourself you are going to do something, and then doing it...From actually keeping that promise to yourself.πŸ”₯

Self confidence is trusting yourself, and knowing that you show up for yourself when you need to.πŸ‘

πŸ₯₯ By identifying as "vegan", means you're excluding certain food groups...aka excluding vital macro and micro-nutrients important to your overall "health". For example...
πŸ₯›πŸ³ Vitamins such as vitamin B12 and Iron are primarily derived from foods which don't fall into the "vegan diet"...aka animal produce.
😁 Takeaway... If your overall value is "health"?...Then a deeper delve into where you can obtain these essential, "healthful" nutrients is something that should not be ignored!
✌️ My advice?...Do your research, and don't assume that by identifying as a vegan, makes you a healthier human. In fact, it might mean the opposite?

πŸ€” Yeah...maybe this is true for some people...but, I'm not sure how helpful this is to 'Sue' who has been raiding the biscuit barrel at 4pm every day since 2001.
😏 Let's be real...no extra serve of chicken or veg is coming between that biscuit barrel relationship. *ahaah
😴 In fact, I'm starting to believe that "adding in" is not the answer here.
As hard as it is, and without pathologisising...you might need to place the focus on unlearning certain behaviours that you know don't serve you?..It's hard thoughπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
😁 A lot of the time, there most probably isn't anything wrong with you. You might just be practising habits that need a little unlearning...
πŸ‘Š And that's where i/your coach comes in.
βœ… Yes...I agree...we could always do with more fruit and veg...we all know that...derrrr
πŸ₯΅ But I'm not sure how useful this message is in terms of our inclination to be drawn towards desire and satisfaction from the food we eat?...and it's not always emotionally driven.

➑️ I mean, we all like to down play the lack of results we're really getting when we feel like we've been busting our butt...whether it be with exercise or nutrition.
πŸ”Š But listen up...Imagine if you were confident in the process...If you knew that 'ticking X boxes' would eventually get you there?
🀯 You suddenly realise that it doesn't really matter how long it's going to take...Because you know that if you tick the boxes long enough, you'll get to where you want to get.
🏁 Then you have an epiphany...And come to the conclusion that you'd probably still be doing all the things you've been doing anyway...But your focus has changed to the things that really matter...
πŸ˜‡ Your life suddenly improves. The way you think and process your thoughts are more conducive to the way you want to live.
πŸ‘Š And as a byproduct of that...You start to get what you deserve from the effort and time you've invested.

πŸ‘ If thought out properly, the goal is most likely more of a 'feel' thing than driving for X number on the scales.
