This made me realise…

At a recent family dinner, I noticed my Mum had cooked a couple of different dishes she'd never cooked before. At the next family dinner, the same thing. She cooked another couple of dishes she'd never cooked before.

This made me realise that creativity never stops in life. Even when you're no longer working, when you're in retirement, creativity can still be present in various ways.

If you feel your creative juices stagnating, check the West section of your home. This section represents creativity and in any area of life that you want!

Ensure it is not cluttered.

To enhance its creative bringing qualities, you can decorate the West with Metal décor, and the colours gold, silver, and or white.

Did you know…? When your house is left empty for a while… you go on a holiday, a business trip or for whatever reason, no one is living in the house for some time, the energy inside shifts to a yin state.

This can attract bad spirits settling in, making the space unsafe - causing illness and accidents.

As soon as you return, give the house an energy clearing.

The North represents your career and business aspirations, making it a powerful zone if you want to strengthen your professional path.

Whether your business is fully established or just getting off the ground, activating the energy of this area with the Water element is your key.

If possible, consider placing a water feature, an aquarium or a fishbowl in your North.

You can also decorate the area with shades of blue and or black, as these colours represent the Water element in Feng Shui.

I caught up with a friend recently, and in conversation she said she used to be scared of the word ‘networking’.

Whenever a networking invitation arose, she was afraid to attend. Then she said she realised it was just talking to people.

It got me thinking… We do this all the time in life. We meet people, we talk, we connect. Regardless of the event type.

Talking to people is powerful. It can open doors to new opportunities, both professionally and personally.

You never know what connecting with someone will bring you – whether it’s today, tomorrow or years later. The next time you’re invited, don’t be afraid to connect.

The South West section of your home, in 2026, needs attention! And this energy will be strong this year!

Unfortunately, it has undesirable energy, which will emit betrayal and robbery.

It brings an increased risk of theft, including online. Ensure you have adequate home security and protection, and be aware of scams and deceitful people.

Exercise caution in all relationships and activities. Change online passwords regularly. Be cautious with all links before clicking.

While this energy will affect the whole household, it will greatly affect the matriarch of the family, as well as the Goat and Monkey Zodiac signs.

The year is expected to see a surge in romantic encounters and love all around for everybody; however, the Zodiacs of Ox, Snake and Rooster are specifically set to experience extra romance.

Loreta Cilfone’s career background is in publishing of magazines, newspapers and books for more than 17 years. She first stumbled across Feng Shui in 2004 when researching an article for a home magazine, and became a Feng Shui enthusiast immediately!

Fast forward to 2013, and Loreta began learning Feng Shui by default! She was asked to do editing work in the field of Feng Shui and her learning journey began. Loreta then officially commenced studying all Feng Shui Schools and Chinese Astrology. She has studied in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with world-renowned Grand Master Lillian Too, and she has attended workshops in Melbourne conducted by world-renowned Chinese Dato’ Joey Yap.

To-date, Loreta has edited and written numerous Feng Shui material including workshop and course manuals, ghost written on Feng Shui, and written her first book titled ‘Feng Shui Kua Directions’.
