Tonight we had the honour of attending our friend ‘s campaign launch as an Independent candidate for the seat of Nedlands in our WA state election on March 8.
Politics is not a game of the faint hearted but Cilla is one of the humans who believes in grass roots connection, community and making real change.
Amongst many of her campaigns, her passion for women’s mental health truly aligns with ours at and this means that she is going to be a true force for change in parliament.

🏆 BREAKING NEWS: $573 million pledged to women’s health by the Albanese Government.

“Today’s announcement is a tribute to all the Australian women who have worked so hard, for so long, to have their voices heard and acknowledged “Minister for Health Mark Butler

🏆 It started with the Round Table Discussion which led to the Submission to Parliament in 2023 finally leading to the Senate Inquiry in 2024 where Hera, along with many other meno-champions outlined what we want the government to do for our patients.

🏆(FINALLY) They listened !!!

🏆 ESTROGEL, PROMETRIUM and ESTROGEL PRO are going on the PBS next month, meaning that the safest forms of HRT are now widely accessible to all women (don’t get me started on patches 🤫)

🏆 Better rebates for menopause care with hope for a menopause assessment item number 💰

🏆 More training for health professionals in the area of menopause medicine 💪🏽

🏆YAZ and YASMIN contraceptive pills will also join the PBS listing (we wait eagerly for Slinda though!) 💊

🏆 IUD insertion rebates will better making these wonderful forms of long acting contraception more accessible as well. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨

🏆 In addition an increased network of pelvic pain clinics and funding for research for UTIs

🏆 Keep campaigning everyone - MORE research is needed in menopause, MORE accessibility for other forms of HRT and MORE doctors to be well versed in management of women’s health overall
