Join us as we celebrate an incredible milestone – our much-loved resident at Glengarry Village, Roy has turned 100 years young! 🥳

Born on 26 May 1925 in Narrogin, Roy’s life has been filled with hard work, family, and community. From his early school days in Margaret River and Kalgoorlie, to joining the Railways at just 17 as an Engine Driver, Roy worked with dedication until his retirement at 60.

Along the way, he married, settled in York, and welcomed two children – Roy and Cheryl. He also found a love for bowls, proudly playing with the Dudley Park Bowls Club for 24 years.

Since joining us at Glengarry Village in 2012, Roy has been a valued and cherished member of our community.

When asked his secret to a long life, Roy simply smiled and said, “I’m the same as everyone else – no secret, just luck of the draw.” 💛

Happy 100th birthday, Roy – what a privilege it is to celebrate this incredible chapter with you. 🥂💐

At Forest Lakes Retirement Village, something truly special is unfolding. A heartwarming intergenerational program is bringing together the young and the young at heart—creating moments of joy, laughter, and genuine connection.

Each month, children from Goodstart Early Learning Thornlie visit residents (and vice versa!), sharing songs, stories, and simple play that lights up the room.

It’s more than just a visit—it’s a reminder of the power of community, empathy, and the joy of shared experiences across generations.

This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate the strength, vision, and legacy of First Nations peoples.
The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,” calls us to uplift and listen to the emerging generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — and to honour those who paved the way.
At Masonic Care WA, we’re proud to stand alongside First Nations communities, celebrating their stories and supporting the voices shaping the future.

Congratulations Peta Baer!

We're thrilled to announce that Councillor Peta Baer-Shire of East Pilbara was awarded the winner of the Masonic Care WA/Freemasons WA Community Service and Volunteering award at the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards WA for her incredible contributions to the Newman community.

Since 2018, Councillor Peta has reignited the Newman Gymnastics Club, growing it from scratch to over 100 athletes, raising $30,000+ for equipment, and coaching over 16 hours a week—all while being the club’s only coach! She’s also a driving force behind the Newman Scout Group, mentoring over 150 kids and leading fundraising efforts of more than $20,000 for life-changing trips.

Councillor Peta also serves as:
Vice Chair of the Newman Chamber of Commerce
Elected Councillor for the Shire of East Pilbara
Manager of the Newman Neighbourhood Centre—securing major funding to triple childcare access in town

Despite personal and systemic challenges, Peta Baer continues to lead with passion, purpose, and a deep love for her town. Her tireless work is shaping a stronger, more connected, and more resilient Newman.

Help us celebrate this unstoppable changemaker! 👏👏👏

Let’s come together to protect and uplift the older members of our community.
Elder abuse can be physical, emotional, financial, or neglect ; and often goes unnoticed.

By speaking up, staying connected, and showing care, we can all help create a safer, more respectful world for older people. 💜

Old Macdonald's Travelling Farms - WA East paid our residents at Howard Solomon Residential Care a visit, bringing along some adorable furry and feathered friends. Our residents loved every minute—patting the Alpaca, cuddling bunnies and chicken, and sharing plenty of laughs, smiles and even making a few new furry friends!.

Thankyou Old Macdonald's Travelling Farms - WA East and Farmer Chris for reminding us how simple connections—like those with animals—can brighten the day. 💛💙
