The Mustard Seed - Your Community Garden
We are a not for profit organisation set up in 2014 thanks to the support of Yokine Baptist Church and grant funding from the City of Stirling. The garden was started to share skills, local and traditional knowledge and innovative ways of living sustainably in the local community. Collectively we aim to create a thriving and healthy centre for producing food and providing knowledge and inspiration based on permaculture, ethical principles and design.
We also provide a space for community groups such as nearby childcare centres and the Activ Foundation to come and plant vegetables and herbs and tend to the garden beds. The public has full access to the Garden and is welcome to harvest whatever is in season for their own use.
Continual support for the garden is provided from gold coin donations from the sale of fresh garden produce. In an attempt to further support the garden, we also raise funds from the sale of Entertainment Books, with all profits going toward the continued operation of this important community resource.
