Wishing you all a reflective & happy Easter, sharing some interesting news pastoral diaries - https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DPBzWqLnb/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Many thanks to Ross Oliver for donating this limited edition, 2 volumes of a transcript of Major Logue's Diaries. Logue commenced writing a Diary whilst bringing stock overland to Champion Bay in 1850. He established a pastoral station at Ellendale and kept writing a daily record of activities there up to January 1900.
The Diaries have been transcribed by Nan Broad, a massive task, taking 8 years.
The Diaries are a unique record of the colonisation of this region, and we are honoured to receive these copies for this museum's library.
Pictured below, Nan Broad presenting the Diaries to museum curator, Gary Martin.
