We offer over 30 years of combined experience in successfully treating and rehabilitating patients across three continents. We believe in identifying the underlying causes of your problem, and formulating a treatment plan aimed at reducing your symptoms quickly, and providing long term change to prevent your issues recurring. At South Perth Physiotherapy, we offer a fully comprehensive Pilates program; including physiotherapist supervised clinical PIlates classes (maximum 3 per class), Studio PIlates (maximum 3 per class) and mat based Pilates (maximum 8 per class) in our fully equipped Pilates studio. At South Perth Physiotherapy we also offer real time ultrasound imaging to accurately assess your deep stabiliser muscle function. This is also used as a non-invasive method of assessment for women's health issues. 🏃‍♀️Running analysis 🏃‍♂️

Are you considering joining the running craze? A fantastic, easy to join and social exercise, running is a fantastic way to stay fit, whether your goal is 5k, 12km, a marathon or even an Ultramarathon!

It is important that you build up your load gradually, warm up and cool down properly and make sure that you can do everything to keep yourself on the road!

If you arent sure where to start, are sidelined with a ni**le or just want to check to make sure you are on track, Karina and Dan offer running assessments! This allows for analysis of your running technique, strength and endurance, and is vital in keeping you working towards your goal

🕷 Lets pack the web 🕸

This Thursday, the Perth Redbacks take on the Perry Lakes Hawks to give them an opportunity to play In a Semi Final on Saturday!

After a strong season, the women are looking to bounce back and defeat a strong Hawks team in a do or die final!

If you can't make it down to Belmont, be sure to tune in on NBL1 to cheer the team on to a Semi Final!

💪 Level up your hip rehab 🤸‍♀️

Stuck with boring, basic hip exercises that aren't helping you? Clam shells can be appropritate when used early in rehabilitation to feel your gluteal muscles, or if you can't weightbear, but they likely aren't going to get you back to function or performing, and can therefore be detrimental, especially if done incorrectly!

Some more functional and harder (beginner to intermediate) exercises to load those glute muscles can be band resisted side steps, or crab walks 🦀 These can be done with a medium to heavy resistance band, and can be progressed by placing the band further away from the joint.

Ash loves progressing these further with his basketball players to work on ankle stability, strength in sports specific positions and higher level rehab. As always, the right exercises for the right client at the right time!

💪 Strong Stable Shoulders 💪

🤸🏼‍♂️Our Senior Physiotherapist Dan showing his favourite shoulder strengthening work with a band or cable🏋‍♀️

🏊‍♂️The Y raise lift is an excellent exercise to build overhead strength and stability for shoulders, especially if your sport requires you to catch or throw overhead, or if you are worried about your posture after sitting down at the desk.👩‍💻

📅 With multiple sporting fixtures over the weekend, South Perth Physio's were on the grounds, with Trish and Ash working with the Perth Redbacks and Karina with Peel Thunder. 🏉

🏀 With some close games over the weekend, our Physio's had the task of keeping players ready and keeping them on the field! 🏆

As you can see, the players are extremely thankful for their service, and are also voluntary victims of Trish and Ash's bony elbows 💪

🏌‍♂️What a shot! 🏌‍♂️

💫 Congratulations to our Senior Physiotherapist, Ash, who has managed to score a Hole in One at Collier Golf Course this morning! 🗯

After only recently taking up the sport in the last 5 months, and taking (many) helpful tips from his good friend Jacob, managed to achieve the elusive score on the picturesque Hole 5 on the Lakes at this morning!

📅 A hole in one in the first 45 holes is extremely impressive, how many more does he have in 2025? Or will he be forever working towards this feeling?

🌟Welcome Trish! 🌟

We are extremely excited to announce our newest addition to our South Perth Physiotherapy team.

Trish graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (First class honours) and holds a Bachelor degree of Sports Science from Edith Cowan University 👩‍🎓. 🤸Trish is a former Gymnastics athlete and coach, and has worked alongside Ash with the NBL1 Redbacks over the past 3 years ⛹️‍♀️

Outside of the Clinic, Trish enjoys staying active (certified Fitness Professional teaching Yoga, Pilates & Les Mills classes), sewing and creative hobbies, and spending time outdoors with her adorable toy Cavoodle! 🐕‍🦺

Trish will be available for consults Monday and Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Trish also takes Clinical Exercise Rehabilitation Monday and Thursday evenings, but these have filled up fast!
