In Australia, 1 in 6 couples face infertility. And up to half of women report significant psychological distress along the way.

Stress can affect ovulation, s***m quality, and how your body responds to treatment. It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong — but it does remind us that your emotional wellbeing matters, too.

From daily tension to chronic overwhelm, your nervous system plays a role in hormonal health and fertility.

That’s why making space for calm — even in small, practical ways — is part of the plan.

So while stress doesn’t directly cause infertility, it DOES have an impact.

Have you noticed this on your fertility journey?

Not every scar from birth is visible. And that doesn’t make it any less real.

This Birth Trauma Week, we’re holding space for the stories that often go unspoken.

Birth trauma isn’t always about physical injuries — it can stem from feeling unheard, rushed, violated, or left out of decisions that deeply affected you.

🤍 You don’t need stitches or surgery for your experience to be valid.
🤍 You don’t need a certain type of birth to say it changed you.
🤍 You don’t need to prove how much it hurt.

Whether your trauma is physical, emotional, or somewhere in between — you deserve care, compassion, and the chance to process what happened.

If this resonates with you, know that you're not alone. And you don’t have to stay silent about your birth story.

Endo and adeno might sound similar — but they’re not the same thing.

Yes, both can cause intense pain.

Yes, both are underdiagnosed.

But here’s what sets them apart 👇

🩸 Endometriosis = tissue growing outside the uterus.
Often causes ongoing pain, even between periods — and can affect fertility.

💥 Adenomyosis = tissue growing inside the muscle wall of the uterus.
More likely to cause heavy bleeding and deep, crampy pain.

Diagnosis can be tricky — and sometimes the only way to really know is through surgery.

But if your pain is interfering with your life or your plans for a family, it’s worth digging deeper.

IUI and IVF are often spoken about in the same breath — but they work in very different ways.

Both can be powerful tools — but they’re not interchangeable.

Choosing the right path depends on your diagnosis, age, s***m quality, and personal preferences.

Thinking about where to begin?

If you’re curled up on the couch with a heat pack wondering how you’ll get through the day — this one’s for you.

Endometriosis flares can feel all-consuming.

The pain, the fatigue, the brain fog… it’s not just ‘a bad period’ — it can derail your entire day.

Here’s what I often recommend when an endo flare hits hard 👇

💊 Pain management: NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) can be helpful, especially if taken early.

🌡️ Heat therapy: A heat pack on your abdomen or back can reduce muscle tension and soothe cramping.

🛀 Gentle movement or stretching: If it feels manageable, slow stretching or restorative yoga can help ease pelvic tension.

🫖 Hydration & anti-inflammatory support: Herbal teas like ginger or turmeric, and magnesium-rich snacks can sometimes ease symptoms.

🤍 Compassion: You’re not ‘lazy’ for needing rest. Listen to your body.
Some days, the goal isn’t to ‘power through’ — it’s to get through gently. With care. And with your own needs front and centre.

What’s helped you during a flare? Let’s build a resource list in the comments so we can help others 🫶🏼

Your hormones tell a story about your fertility. So here are three key players can help guide your next steps 👉🏼

Understanding your hormone profile empowers better conversations with your specialist about timing and treatment options. The better you stay informed, the less overwhelming the process can become.

Have you had these hormones checked recently?

Fertility journeys don't follow neat timelines.

Sometimes you'll find yourself in between decisions—unsure about the next cycle, taking a break, or changing direction entirely.

This space can feel heavy when you're processing more than medical options. You're weighing emotional capacity, financial reality, and deeply personal hopes all at once.

Come back to your values. What matters most right now? Your wellbeing? Time? Success rates?

Let that guide your next small step rather than trying to solve everything at once. 🌱

You don't have to figure this out alone. Talk it through with your specialist, a counsellor, or someone who understands this path.

I see so many patients who've missed crucial screening windows simply because they didn't know what to ask for.

Each life stage brings different health priorities—from cervical screening in your twenties to mammograms after 40. The key is staying ahead of potential issues rather than reacting to them.

Your GP wants to help, but they can't read your mind. Come prepared with questions about the screenings relevant to your age and stage of life.

Small conversations today can prevent bigger health challenges tomorrow.

After a miscarriage, the focus often centres on the person who was pregnant. But what about their partners?

Research indicates that partners also experience significant grief, yet their emotional needs are frequently overlooked.

Many partners feel the need to be the "strong one," suppressing their own emotions to support their loved one. This can lead to unacknowledged grief and isolation.

Grief doesn't discriminate. It's vital to create space for all individuals affected by pregnancy loss to express their emotions and seek support.

If you're a partner navigating this journey, your feelings are valid. Reach out, talk about it, and know that support is available for you too.

Mother’s Day can stir up a lot of emotions.

Whether you’re trying to conceive, have experienced a loss, or are celebrating the joys of motherhood in your own unique way, today is about honouring your journey—wherever you may be.

For those who are still waiting, know that every step counts. For those grieving, it’s okay to feel what you feel today. For those who have built their families in different ways, your love and care are everything.

Motherhood isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s messy, beautiful, painful, and joyous all at once. But one thing is true for everyone: you are stronger than you know, and your path is uniquely yours.

This Mother’s Day, take time to reflect, honour yourself, and embrace the beauty of your journey—no matter what stage you’re in.

You are supported. You are enough.

If this resonates, follow along for more insights, encouragement, and support in your fertility and motherhood journey. 💛
