We’re excited to share that JBD Psychology has joined us as a sub-tenant at Ascend Physio — offering clients access to even more holistic care, all under one roof.

JBD Psychology is led by Dr Jemma Dessauvagie (PhD, Registered Psychologist, Board Approved Supervisor), who provides compassionate, evidence-based psychological support for adults and adolescents.

Jemma takes a gentle, client-centred approach, drawing on CBT, ACT, DBT skills and Interpersonal Therapy to create a safe, non-judgemental space for anyone wanting to explore challenges, process life experiences, and build resilience.

Her areas of interest include:

• Anxiety, depression & mood disorders
• Perinatal mental health (support for both mums and dads)
• Relationship dynamics & interpersonal challenges
• Neurodiversity (ADHD/ASD support)
• Grief, loss & major life transitions
• Athlete mental health—from grassroots to elite sport

JBD Psychology operates independently within our clinic, but we’re thrilled to have them in the space and to be able to point our community towards trusted mental health support when needed.

🏉 Over the past few weeks, Bryony’s been out of clinic working with the Australian U18s Rugby Union team, what a tour it’s been, with two big wins against NZ Schools!
She’s now back in Perth for a week of tennis work and will be returning to the clinic next week. 👏

We’re so proud of the work she’s doing behind the scenes and can’t wait to have her back!

Meet Bryony — a physiotherapist with 15 years of experience, including the last 9 at Ascend after completing her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at Curtin University.

She worked with community and state-level sporting teams across multiple codes, and currently contracts with Tennis Australia and Rugby Australia as a tournament physio. Her expertise spans pre- and post-operative rehab, sporting and adolescent injuries, geriatrics, and lower back pain.

Beyond the clinic, Bryony is an avid mountain biker, trail runner, and volunteer firefighter of 19 years in her hometown of Gidgegannup. Her career has taken her from Doha with World Table Tennis to Mauritius with Rugby, and even to treating athletes in sports as unusual as underwater hockey.

Precision, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping people move better, that’s Bryony.
