Using only the best quality ingredients I can source, I believe skincare should be simple. Harnessing specifically selected natural ingredients, including natural plant oils, pure essential oils and extracts, my products work with your skin, to help reveal your radiant looking self. Handmaiden products are free from parabens, SLS, synthetic fragrances, artificial colours, silicon or mineral oil. Just the good stuff, the way is should be.

Your cleanser is everything.

When you switch from a soap or solvent based cleanser to an oil one, you get a super clean skin, but without the drying effect of old school, sudsy cleansers. The myth that oil based products make your skin oily has well and truly been debunked. Your skin has a natural layer of oil on it called the sebum. It is a protective layer on top of your skin to hydrate and protect skin. It traps dirt, protect from excessive water loss and as it is slightly acidic, it defends against bacteria and other microbes.
As oils desolve in oils, an oil based cleanser will gently dissolve oils deeply imbedded in sebum in your pores, allowing for the dirt, dead skin and environmental grime that is trapped in it to be washed away, without stripping your skin of it naturally protective sebum.
Handmaiden has 2 oil based cleansers available: Nourishing Makeup Remover and Cleanser, a skin loving oil blend, enhanced with Shea butter that leaves skin feeling silky and hydrated and Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, an oil based combination exfoliating cleanser for smooth and healthy looking skin; both of which can be left in skin as a nourishing, hydrating mask.

Rule number 1 of wearing make up is never go to bed before washing it off, but that doesn’t always happen. This could lead to skin problems, blemishes and inflammation.
My Nourishing Makeup Remover and cleanser makes taking off even stubborn stay fast make up, super easy. Just massage a small amount into your skin, spread it all around, and then rinse off with lukewarm water. Extra stubborn make up may require a gentle wipe with a soft, wet cloth.
The unique oil based formula in this cleanser not only dissolves even the most stubborn make up, ingrained dirt and sunscreen, but also nourishes your skin. Made with Shea butter and other plant based powerhouse oils it will wash away all the dirt and never strip your skin of its natural protective oils.
