Silva had a dream, and let’s just say, it was a pretty big one... But not too big for us.

She wanted to walk on the beach again.

As a former professional swimmer, the ocean had always been her happy place. But after a few tough years and a dip in both confidence and mobility, that dream felt pretty out of reach.

Then Silva met her Brightwater at Home team.

With a personalised therapy plan by Physiotherapist Chantelle, regular support from Therapy Assistant Toni and guidance from Coordinator Lorice, Silva finally felt she had the right team in her corner who truly listened.

Together, they built up her strength, supported her goals and even went the extra mile to hunt down a custom beach walker.

Now, Silva’s back doing what she loves, feeling the sand beneath her toes, supported by a team who believed in her every step of the way.

Watch this lovely video and see how she rediscovered her independence.

Jenny had an absolute blast joining the NAIDOC celebrations at Mirrabooka Leisure Centre last week!

Thanks to Life’s Possibilities, she enjoyed the amazing sounds of the didgeridoo, watched amazing dancing, and soaked up all the colour and culture.

NAIDOC holds deep meaning for Jenny, offering a beautiful connection to culture, Country and spirit as a proud mum to an adopted Aboriginal daughter.

So great to see Jenny out and about, loving every moment! 💛🖤❤️

We recently hosted the wonderful Jake Dennis at Inglewood for Morning Melodies.

From jazz to rockability, Jake had the room tapping, clapping and singing along to some golden oldies!

The lovely Rosa brought a couple of friends and also took a moment to remember her late husband, Nick.

You see, when you leave a gift to us, we thank you with a personalised leaf to pop on our Leaves of Life wall as a lasting tribute to someone special. Rosa added one for Nick, and it was such a beautiful gesture.

It’s moments like these that remind us how special the Brightwater community really is 💛

What happens when you mix great food, teamwork and a safe space?

You get Wednesdays at Polaris House 🧑‍🍳

We recently ran a cooking and art group that’s quickly become a weekly highlight for people living with Younger Onset Dementia.

Led by one of our amazing Occupational Therapists Erin Banerjee Occupational Therapy , we’ve seen more confidence, more chats, and friendships beginning to grow through these simple, shared moments at hs, , we’ve seen more confidence, more chats, and friendships beginning to grow through these simple, shared moments at home.

Whether it’s chopping veggies, pitching in where you can, or proudly dishing up a meal, there’s a lot of joy in getting stuck into everyday things.

Know someone who'd love this kind of support?

Maureen was 21 when she bought her son a LEGO set and decided to build it with him. From that moment, she was hooked!

Earlier this year, Maureen had a stroke, and her favourite hobby had to take a backseat. But since moving into Brightwater’s Transitional Accommodation at Marangaroo, she's reignited that spark.

Thanks to the Life’s Possibilities program, Maureen picked out a shiny new set -The Dark Falcon! Now, building is not only bringing her joy, but also supporting her therapy by improving coordination, fine motor skills and patience.

Maureen’s also a proud member of the Perth LEGO User’s Group (PLUG) and says she’s “over the moon” to be back at it and reconnecting with fellow LEGO fans.

It’s so good to see her back in her element! ✨

The best kind of therapy sometimes comes with four legs and a wagging tail.

Obi joined us for a little trial run as a therapy assistant, and it's safe to say he was a total hit! There were cuddles, smiles and a few hearts stolen along the way.

Obi might just have a regular gig here! 🐾

A zoo-perb day out at Perth Zoo!

We hopped on the bus, cruised around and spotted all sorts of wild and wonderful creatures along the way.

There was no shortage of chatting, laughter, and a tasty lunch to keep us fuelled for the fun. But more than anything, it was a chance to soak up the fresh air, share some quality time and make a few more special memories together.

The kind of day that really fills your cup and lifts your spirits. 💚

Thank you to Life's Possibilities for making it all happen!
