🧘🏻‍♀️Happy New Year dear Yoga community. A new year always comes with a chance of change. As we step into this new year, I want to share a reminder from my heart:
Spiritual growth isn’t something that happens “out there” — it begins in the body we live in every day.

When we care for the body, we’re not just being “healthy” for the sake of it. We are creating the foundation for higher consciousness. A strong body, a supported nervous system, and a clear energy field allow us to hold higher frequencies. When our system is cared for, we can think more clearly, feel more grounded, and grow spiritually without feeling overwhelmed.

What keeps us at a lower frequency often comes from everyday choices: the lifestyle we settle into, the food we eat, the thoughts we repeat to ourselves, the way we speak about our lives, the environments we stay in even when they don’t feel right, or the moments we ignore the body’s signals when it asks for rest or change. These things quietly shape our state of being.

Your yoga practice is a space to rebuild from the inside. It strengthens the physical body and helps calm the mind. It supports emotional balance and gives you the inner strength to choose habits that lift you, rather than ones that pull you down. It helps you remember who you are becoming and gives you the capacity to live from that place more often.

Spiritual growth matters because it changes the way we experience life. It makes space for clarity instead of confusion, intention instead of being in autopilot, connection instead of disconnection. It’s not about becoming someone new — it’s about returning to the truest version of yourself with more awareness, softness, and power & strength.

My wish for you this year is simple:
a body that feels safe to live in, a mind that feels like an ally, and a heart that feels ready for what’s ahead.

How’s your toe mobility?

Most health and fitness professionals overlook the importance of proper foot and toe function. Yet, these areas—hidden away in our shoes—play a crucial role in our overall movement and well-being.

Think about it: our feet are as intricate and vital as our hands, yet we often confine them to rigid, sensory-deprived environments—similar to wearing mittens on our hands all day. Is it any wonder then that foot dysfunction is so common?

Take the big toe, for instance. It’s the driver of our foot’s mechanics, yet it often doesn’t receive the extension stress it needs due to our footwear choices. This can contribute to issues like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and anterior hip pain.

If you are experiencing these problems, consider the role of the big toe in their condition. Let’s take a step toward healthier, happier feet!

The illustration simply highlights the ideal range of motion, although the range of motion in the top, is hard to reach, it should be a good guideline and something we ALL had from childhood 😊

45° and above is an ideal range of motion in our toes, anything under this should have daily mobility drills applied to improve range of motion.

Prana Yoga runs classes throughout the week to suit all levels and stages of life. All classes cater to the individual, from beginners to advanced, pregnancy & post–natal women, seniors, children and corporate classes.

Eco certified yoga mats and all yoga equipment are provided. Mats are cleaned after every class.Our teachers are fully insured and are happy to help with any enquiries.
