Did you know that the health of your toes and feet have a big impact on the overall health of your balance, posture and injury prevention?
Toes are believed to carry 40% of our weight when walking and running and act as a shock absorber while performing physical activity.
Give your toes and feet some love by incorporating some of these stretches and exercises into your movement routines
🦶🏿 Heel raises: While standing, lift your heels off the floor, rising onto your tiptoes. Hold, then slowly lower.
🦶🏿 Toe Splay: Sit with your feet flat on the floor and spread your toes as wide as possible. Hold for a few seconds, then relax.
🦶🏿 Towel Scrunch:
Place a towel under your foot and use your toes to scrunch it up toward you.
🦶🏿 Marble Pick-ups:
Sit with marbles on the floor and use your toes to pick them up one by one.
🦶🏿 Foot Alphabet:
Extend one leg and “draw” the letters of the alphabet in the air with your foot.
🦶🏿 Big Toe Stretch:
Gently pull your big toe up, down, and to the side with your fingers to increase its range of motion
