AMA WA Doctors In Training

AMA WA Doctors In Training The AMA (WA) Doctors In Training Practice Group provides advocacy for DiTs in WA, from Intern to Fellow.

The AMA (WA) DiT Committee is the representative group for all Doctors in Training (DiT) in Western Australia. The committee meets monthly to discuss issues directly affecting DiTs and medical students and is open to all DiT members of the Association. The committee has representation on a raft of internal and external committees to ensure the voice of DiTs is not just heard but also sought when decisions affecting DiTs are being made. The AMA (WA) DiT Committee has a proud reputation of being the strongest local advocate for hospital-based DiTs across the country. We tie in with the RMO Societies at each hospital to ensure we have a good understanding of “on the ground” issues at all sites. In 2016 our key focusses so far have been DiT welfare, the upcoming negotiations for the 2016 AMA Industrial Agreement, and Buildit – the AMA (WA) Research Portal for Doctors in Training.

🩺 👩🏽‍⚕️👨🏻‍⚕️ More than 1,110 Doctors in Training completed the 2024 AMA (WA) Hospital Health Check (HHC). Record participation shows hows important the AMA (WA)’s annual survey is in holding hospital Employers to account for the welfare of their doctors.

The Report is out now, showing how doctors are faring on a range of metrics, and how Employers are responding to the challenge of managing their staff in a respectful and productive way.
