We had such a great time connecting with everyone at the Pakenham Retirement Living & Senior Lifestyle Expo last week!

Our Senior Physio, Mel, said it best:

“The Seniors Expo at Pakenham was great! A lot of proactive elderly members and their families coming through, and all very local to me.”

It was amazing to meet so many locals passionate about staying active, independent, and engaged in their community.

At Ascend Health, we’re all about helping people keep doing the things they love, because staying active never gets old!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, grab a brochure, or just say hello. We can’t wait to see you again soon at the next Senior Expos Australia event!

Our uni student support workers came together this week for an NDIS deep dive, and let’s just say, minds were expanded.

From navigating funding changes to levelling up documentation, the night was packed with real-world knowledge and future-focused insights. Big thanks to Zach, Heidi, Georgia, and Arnold for their insights and walking the team through:

Happy birthday to our longest serving therapy team member, Bruno! 🥳🐾

Bruno has been by our side through countless therapy sessions, offering motivation, comfort, and the fluffiest support imaginable. His gentle nature and friendly wag bring joy to everyone he meets, helping our members step outside and move with more confidence.

He may be retired now, but he can look forward to plenty more treats. Here's to many more tail wags around HQ, Bruno!

This week, we transformed our OT training by diving into introception - understanding how we all experience and perceive information differently.

Imagine a world where everyone feels heard, understood, and supported. That's our commitment. We're breaking down barriers and creating training that allows us to speak to everyone, especially our members with diverse abilities.

Our team inspires us to be better, to learn deeper, and to connect more meaningfully. This International Day of Education, we're celebrating our team and the work they do training the future healthcare superstars.

How exciting is this! We've had 3 new therapists join us this week in Perth for orientation 🤩 Our speech and OT services are expanding with the inclusion of these incredibly talented individuals. And yes, that is last year's Support Worker Of The Year winner 😉

But this is not the first time we're meeting these stars. All have either worked as support workers and support work team leaders or completed a placement at Ascend Health last year. We've been so excited to have them join us, so it's been an exciting week.
