Thursday's are always buzzing with new support workers being onboarded, shifts being filled, and new members being activated.

Now that the routines are returning, you might be looking for some extra support. Well, we have some good news.

We’ve currently got capacity for new participants across Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne.

And when we say "capacity," we don't just mean warm bodies. We mean legends like the ones pictured here, our award-winning support workers from last year. They set the bar pretty high, but luckily our whole team loves a challenge.

The festive season is almost here! To give our office team a chance to recharge, we’ll be operating with a smaller team over the break.

Here is what you need to know:
☎️ Midday Dec 24 & Dec 28–30: Office staff are available for urgent enquiries only.
🛌 Public Holidays & Weekends: Our office will be closed.
🏋️‍♀️ Jan 5: We’ll be back to full strength and ready for the New Year!

While the office is quiet, our support workers and therapists are continuing their shifts as requested. If you have a session booked, your support team will be there for you!

If you have any questions about your specific sessions, please feel free to reach out to your therapist or support worker directly.

Did you know that you can continue to celebrate International Day of People with Disability every day (the official date was yesterday)? 😉

Inclusion isn’t a once-a-year conversation, but a choice we can make every day. One simple (and impactful) way to champion accessibility is by choosing to work with organisations that employ and empower people with disability.

At our recent awards night, we partnered with an incredible photography team from that includes talented creatives with disability. Their work speaks for itself, but the real impact comes from supporting businesses that open doors, build confidence, and celebrate diverse skills.

If you’re booking services or planning an event, consider who you’re giving opportunities to. Your choice can make workplaces more inclusive one project at a time. 💜

We had such a great time connecting with everyone at the Pakenham Retirement Living & Senior Lifestyle Expo last week!

Our Senior Physio, Mel, said it best:

“The Seniors Expo at Pakenham was great! A lot of proactive elderly members and their families coming through, and all very local to me.”

It was amazing to meet so many locals passionate about staying active, independent, and engaged in their community.

At Ascend Health, we’re all about helping people keep doing the things they love, because staying active never gets old!

Our uni student support workers came together this week for an NDIS deep dive, and let’s just say, minds were expanded.

From navigating funding changes to levelling up documentation, the night was packed with real-world knowledge and future-focused insights. Big thanks to Zach, Heidi, Georgia, and Arnold for their insights and walking the team through:

Happy birthday to our longest serving therapy team member, Bruno! 🥳🐾

Bruno has been by our side through countless therapy sessions, offering motivation, comfort, and the fluffiest support imaginable. His gentle nature and friendly wag bring joy to everyone he meets, helping our members step outside and move with more confidence.

He may be retired now, but he can look forward to plenty more treats. Here's to many more tail wags around HQ, Bruno!
