Why RCOT?
I have been a paediatric occupational therapist since 2013, starting my career in a sensory integration based clinic, moving into full-time therapeutic caring for children in care of the Department of Child Protection, and the last couple of years, I have worked more specifically with people with autism (mainly with children), in a community based setting.
I enjoy working with clients, families and schools to ensure the best possible outcomes for therapy. Providing the necessary skills and support for key contacts in a child’s life, will ensure that therapy goals can continue to be addressed outside of therapy hours, and significantly strengthen the outcomes a child experiences.
Prior to occupational therapy, I was an accredited exercise physiologist. This experience continues to support my knowledge in motor movements, exercise and gross motor interventions, and how these interventions assist in development and maturity.
