📚😴 Back-to-School Sleep Routines Start Now😴📚
As the school term approaches, now is the perfect time for students and families in Mt Hawthorn to ease back into a healthy school-time sleep routine. Well-rested students are set up to perform at their very best. Let’s support healthy habits across our Mt Hawthorn community as we head back to school in a couple of weeks. 🌟
Top tips to reset sleep schedules:
• Gradually move bedtimes earlier by 30 minutes each night until the target bedtime is reached
• Turn off TVs, phones, and gaming devices at least one hour before bedtime
• Encourage daily physical activity – regular exercise supports deeper, more restorative sleep
• If silence makes sleeping difficult, consider a white noise machine or a fan
• Keep bedtimes consistent, even on weekends, to avoid disrupting sleep patterns
💤 Most students need 9–10 hours of sleep each night. Establishing a strong sleep routine helps improve academic performance, concentration, and engagement both in and out of the classroom.
