Tech it Out Thursday! 🤖🚗

What happens when the ‘Queen of AT’ meets the ‘King of Constructive Feedback’ 👑 😆

Recently, our very own Driving Instructor Jordan challenged the amazing Nikki Cousins of Action Occupational Therapy to a drive using the fadiel satellite accelerator and brake system... and let’s just say, Nikki smashed it... not literally! 🤭

Jordan, however, has already promised to send Nikki a full 'driving habits report' and an 'intervention plan' for her follow up session 🫣

🚀 The team got hands on with Glide Products new FX-3D cushions last week - 3D-printed, pressure relieving, waterproof, breathable and fully customisable! 🤚✋

Last week the team welcomed Joy and Kevin from Glide Products for an in-service on their new FX-3D Cushion... and we were seriously impressed!

A huge thank you to Alex and Taleah for representing OT Services Group at local Veteran events last week!

📍 Rockingham Navy Club.. Alex dropped in to share with members how to access OT support through DVA, walking them through the the kinds of equipment that can make everyday life a little easier - from tipping kettles to walkers and much more!

📍 Meanwhile, Taleah joined the Veterans Wellness Day at the Port Kennedy RSL, connecting with Veterans and their families to answer questions and showcase practical supports available to support safe, active & independent living.

We’re proud to support our Veteran community and grateful to our team for taking the time to share their knowledge and passion within the community! A big thank you also to Unicare Health for supporting these events with giveaways!

We were so lucky to host the amazing Nikki Cousins yesterday for an in person, interactive session at our our Solutions Centre covering everything Life Skills! 👨‍🍳🪥📱

Her energy, generosity, and practical knowledge made for such an engaging day - full of insights that we’ll all be taking forward in our practice. Thank you Nikki for sharing your knowledge and inspiring our team (and the broader WA community) to think differently 🙌

A couple of weeks back, we welcomed the current cohort of 3rd Year Edith Cowan University (ECU) Occupational Therapy students to the Solutions Centre for a Manual Handling Refresher Day! 😅

Across two sessions, more than 60 students joined our superstar OTs - Libby, Alanna, & Derek - to get ‘placement ready’ by brushing up on practical handling skills!

After kicking off in the MJ Pearce Seminar Room (newly named ❤️)… the students jumped straight into hands-on practice on the showroom floor:
👉 Trying out different hoists for safe transfers
👉 Exploring mobility aids for all kinds of client needs
👉 Refining their manual handling techniques

An extra special thank you to our friends at Unicare Health for equipping our centre with extra resources for the day! 🙏🤗

A big thank you to Libby, Alanna & Derek for making these sessions so engaging, & we’re wishing our students the best of luck as they head into their placement blocks - you’ve got this! 💪😎
