Fascinating take on Parkinson s disease

Everybody knows a little bit about gluten sensitivity and how it can damage your inner gut lining - called leaky gut syndrome. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/326117

When the gut barrier is compromised toxins, bacteria etc may trigger an immune response to fight the invaders. However, sometimes your own tissues may get caught in the cross fire. This auto immune response may lead to specific symptoms according to what organ system is affected.

If your cerebellum is under attack you may experience trouble with your fine motor skills, balance, gait and speech. If you go and see a GP who is trained according to the conventional disease management approach - you may end up with a wrong diagnosis and symptomatic treatment like enzymes for digestion. The treatment may keep you going but you likely will never be healthy and well for the rest of your life. Why? Because symptomatic treatments do not work! They don’t address the root cause of the problem. It s like that: You take a hammer and hit your thumb. It hurts like hell and it starts bleeding. You dress the wound with a bandaid to facilitate the healing process. Next day, you take the hammer and hit your thumb again. It hurts and starts bleeding. You apply a bandaid …. Next day you repeat …. and repeat. Guess what? The thumb is never going to heal. Well, this is how the disease management system operates. It is your responsibility to be healthy 🌱

On the other hand a functional approach that includes a careful lifestyle analysis may provide some valuable clues about the aetiology of the symptoms and an elimination diet may show quick
and astonishing improvements in health and all over well-being.

How do I know all this? Because it happened to me and I suffered on and off for several decades from exposure to gluten. All tests for gluten sensitivity were negative and so I struggled most of my career in a gluten infested hospital working environment. It is socially isolating not to
consume gluten and you can get even harassed by your own doctor colleagues and nurses for making health conscious decisions. What a joke!

Over the years the symptoms became more severe and finally I experienced balance problems, speech issues, skin changes, ankle oedema and problems with my fine motor skills. But you know what? Nobody is going to help you unless you help yourself.
Lucky, I had a sudden flash of insight and googled ataxia in combination with gluten. Google came
up with a solution: Gluten induced cerebellar ataxia.

An elimination diet followed ASAP and the symptoms
are disappearing rapidly. Once
the root cause is eliminated the body is able to heal quickly, restore wellbeing and physical fitness. You are meant to be healthy 🌱

Gluten ataxia involves progressive balance problems caused by a reaction to the protein gluten. Here is what you need to know.

A Western diet (high fat, high sugar) is messing with gut integrity, promoting inflammation (polyps progressing to Ca) and altering immune Fx related to inflammatory bowel diseases.

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/05/210518114235.htm

This may be the reason why Ca screening age has been reduced to 45 years of age. Why not prevent and reverse the development of gut
inflammation with lifestyle factor modifications and healthy nutrition? https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2021/05/210518114902.htm

Prompted by a recent alarming rise in cases of colorectal cancer in people younger than 50, an independent expert panel has recommended that individuals of average risk for the disease begin screening exams at 45 years of age instead of the traditional 50.

Meal Timing: Circadian Rhythm Adapted Time Restricted Feeding

Plant Based nutrition is associated with many health benefits.
The concept of Intermittent fasting found its way into mainstream. However, considering a circadian rhythm adapted fasting strategy is maybe not so common in Western society. In a natural environment, sunset shuts down the exposure to blue rays. This environmental change gets registered by the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCM). The SCM is the master processor that regulates most circadian and endocrinological processes further downstream.

Since the human system has evolved over millions of years in a natural environment it seems to make sense to integrate the organic day and night cycle into our modern way of life. What can be done?

Blue ray filter glasses after sunset seem to work very well

Today is Earth day 🌱
A little theory of everything for Earth Day https://www.earthday.org/

Is there a smart and simple solution to improve human health and Earth health simultaneously?

What the evidence suggests:

"We must change what we eat to solve climate crisis. Even if fossil fuel emissions stop immediately, emissions from the global food system alone could increase global temperatures by more than 1.5°C, shows new research from an international team led by the University of Oxford."

https://science.sciencemag.org/content/370/6517/705

Furthermore, an analysis published 2016 in PNAS illustrates the interactions between plant based nutrition, human health, climate change as well as the resulting economic benefits on a global scale.

The conclusions in a nutshell:

Plants are good for human health, animal health and Earth health.
