Childs pose is a gentle spinal decompression which reduces lumbar lordosis.
It also encourages lengthening action of the spinal muscles and fascia which can help with trapped nerves or nerve pain.
Having your knees further apart will reduce the curve and pressure felt in the lower spine. Bringing your knees closer together will increase the stretch and give a stronger sensation.
