Keep checking in regularly with yourself to make sure you are not forgetting YOU.

3 ideas for you my midlife warrior:

Eat Good Stuff; feed your body with delicious and nutritious food that fuels your energy and keeps you going. Keep a mood journal and write down how you feel 1 hour after you have eaten. Your mood will show you whether you are eating to fuel or eating for comfort.

Get Your Groove On; Get outside, or find activities that make you want to move your body. Something that gives your joy, boosting your badassery!

Treat Yourself; Pamper yourself, can be a big day or something small like a face mask or some sort of daily self care, 20 min cuppa and a book, a 20 min nap, something art and crafty.

Continue to look within you to see what you actually need and like to do. Then do that! I’m here to help, so DM if you want to see if my offering is what you are looking for.

Many times I have tried to create and stick to habits. Sometimes it works and other times, I feel resistance and it feels like a hard slog. Fundamentally changing the habit does not change the person you are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Science says it takes an average of 59 to 70 days to form a habit for it to become automatic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BUT, have you ever thought about just changing your mind. You can’t just change the mind by changing a habit, because you still believe you are that person who was addicted to or still feel the pull towards that something. What if you just changed your mind. It’s a much faster way to go.

So change the mind and the habits will flow.

I heard this spoken over the weekend and it really made me look at my habits in a better light.

We all like to compare sometimes, and sometimes we don’t even realise we are doing it. Our lack of awareness can lead us to showing up in ways that are hurtful to ourselves and others.

And guess what! We are hardwired to compare, but the good news is, we get to choose how we will let it affect us.

Choose admiration over envy, inspiration over comparison, and love over jealousy. Embrace your unique journey as a midlife woman, celebrating talents, relationships, and personal growth.

Be who you truly want to be, not in the fleeting moment of comparison, but in the clarity of self-discovery and embracing your own path.

It's never too late to expand your horizons and step outside of your comfort zone. While it may not always require traveling halfway across the world, like I'm currently doing 😂, trying something new can still be just as exhilarating.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Currently, while in Austin, Texas, I discovered Orange Theory gym through a friend in Perth, Australia. It piqued my interest since it's a HIIT type of training, so I decided to give it a go. And let me tell you, I got absolutely smashed in my first class!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite knowing no one, I went in for a site tour and scheduled a time to try it out. I arrived early to get settled in and ended up fist pumping my neighbor by the end of the class.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This experience has reminded me to always explore what's around me and to try new things. Who knows what adventures and opportunities await!

Today, it’s about your self-care.

Remember the importance of taking time for yourself, even in the midst of busy days or even days when you don’t want to get off the couch.

You don’t need to go from 1 to 10, you just need to go from 1 to 2, take one small step for you?

It could be as easy as going for a quick walk, taking a moment to box breathe, read 1 page of your book, take a drive or something you love.

Remember, self-care isn't selfish - it's essential. Embrace the power of prioritising yourself, even in little ways.

Don’t ignore YOU, you totally need this to function better.

Introducing my Mindset Coaching business. Now that university is complete, I can focus more on my coaching business, with my main audience for midlife women feeling stuck. For example, empty nesters, women in their 40’s and 50’s believing you’re not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough or that you’ll never be the weight you dream of being. Also other beliefs that you are an anxious person or a procrastinator or perfectionist.

Identify limiting beliefs: I help clients identify any negative or limiting beliefs that may be holding them back.

Recognize the impact of behaviours: I help clients understand how their behaviours can reinforce or challenge their beliefs.

Understand the connection between emotions and thoughts: I help clients understand that their emotions are often a response to their thoughts and beliefs.

What a week! I never thought that I would celebrate my graduation to this degree (pun intended).

I had a-lot of mind drama! Yes, I am a mindset coach and also human, so I still get the mind chatter.

My brain said things like, not to be too vain, not to show off or no one wants to see you post about this or what if someone “thinks” I’m showing off.

Then I reigned in my thoughts ;-

I walked myself through the exercise of dealing with negative self talk.

🚨 Recognise - and notice these are JUST thoughts. Not right or wrong. Not facts.

🚨 Find evidence - as I thought about my thoughts, I found loads of evidence against my thoughts. I thought, what if sharing my story helps someone chase their dream and why can’t I share my story, it is my page. Also, Moira just acknowledge you did the hard work and now you get to celebrate.

🚨Observe - just watch your thoughts without any judgement. In fact be curious. I like to say “thats funny you had this thought” or “I wonder why you had this thought?”

🚨Reframe - finally taking some of the thoughts and reframe them. Examples of thoughts of vanity or show off. I reframed it by saying “you can share your story. What people think about you is their business not yours. You are 51 and got a double degree, shout it from the rooftop girl.

And that my friends is how my week went. I had an overwhelming response on Facebook and more likes and comments then anything I have ever posted.

Just bc I am a mindset coach does not mean I have it all figured out. What I do know is that I can get my thought process back on track quickly.
