🌟 Acknowledgment Post for Ian North's Contribution 🌟

We are thrilled to highlight the recent collaboration between the Australian Podiatry Association and KingGee, featuring our very own Ian North, an expert podiatrist here at Canning Podiatry Centre! 🙌

Ian's insights were spotlighted in the article “Tradies' Guide to Work Boots and Foot Health,” where he shared valuable advice on selecting the right work boots to prevent foot issues and maintain long-term foot health. His expertise in sports biomechanics and over 25 years of experience shone through, offering practical tips for tradies across Australia.

Thank you, Ian, for your commitment to raising awareness and helping hardworking Australians take steps (literally!) towards better foot health. 👏

👟 Back to School: Set Your Kids Up for Active, Healthy Feet! 👩‍🏫

As the school year approaches, it’s time to think about more than just books and uniforms—your child’s foot health matters too! At Canning Podiatry Centre, we know how important it is to keep growing feet strong and healthy so your kids can stay active, happy, and pain-free throughout the school year.

Here are our top tips for Back-to-School Foot Care:
1️⃣ Choose the Right Shoes:
Look for shoes that provide good foot support, an secure anatomical fit, and are appropriate for school activities.
Opt for breathable materials and a durable sole for long days of play and learning.
2️⃣ Get the Right Fit:
Growing feet need room! Leave a gap between the toes and the shoe tip.
Always measure both feet and fit the shoes to the larger foot if sizes differ.
3️⃣ Check for Signs of Trouble:
Look for redness, skin irritation, or complaints of foot pain, which could indicate an issue with footwear or the foot itself.
4️⃣ Encourage Active Play:
Promote running, jumping, and playing—activities that help develop coordination, balance, and strong muscles.

📅 National Diabetes Week: July 14-20 📅

At Canning Podiatry Centre, we are committed to raising awareness about the impact of diabetes on foot health.

🦶 Did you know? 🦶
Diabetes affects millions of people worldwide, and one of the most vulnerable areas for complications is the feet. High blood sugar levels can lead to nerve damage (neuropathy) and poor circulation, increasing the risk of foot ulcers, infections, and even amputations.

💡 Why is Foot Care Important? 💡
Regular foot screening is crucial for early detection and prevention of serious complications. At Canning Podiatry Centre, we offer comprehensive diabetic foot assessments which include:
- Neurological Examination: Checking for nerve damage that can lead to loss of sensation.
- Vascular Assessment: Evaluating blood flow to detect any circulation issues.
- Skin and Nail Inspection: Identifying any changes or signs of infection.
- Footwear Advice: Ensuring your shoes support and protect your feet.

🔍 What's Involved in a Screening? 🔍
Our friendly podiatrists will conduct a thorough examination, discuss your medical history, and provide personalized advice to help manage your foot health. Regular check-ups can make a world of difference in preventing serious complications.

📞 Book Your Appointment Today! 📞
Don't wait until it's too late. Contact us at Canning Podiatry Centre to schedule your diabetic foot screening and take the first step towards healthier feet.

It can be stressful shopping for new school shoes as there are a number of considerations – price, quality, support and of course something your child will wear.

Podiatrists can help make this process easier by recommending suitable styles and brands, especially if your child has an extra wide or narrow foot or if they are experiencing any pain.

Our team of Podiatrists are here to ensure your child can leap into 2024 with well-fitting shoes!

📚✨ Back to School with Happy Feet! 🦶👟

Hello Canning Podiatry Centre community! 🌟
As we gear up for the back-to-school season, we want to ensure your little ones start the academic year on the right foot – quite literally! 👣🎒

👟 Correct Footwear Matters: Make sure your child is stepping into the school year with the right shoes! Proper footwear is crucial for their comfort, posture, and overall foot health. Our team of Podiatrists can assess and provide advice regarding selecting the perfect pair.

📏 Growth and Development: Children's feet are constantly growing and developing. Keep an eye on their shoe size and replace them when needed. Ill-fitting shoes can lead to discomfort and potential foot problems. Let's ensure those growing feet are supported every step of the way!

🏃‍♂️ Active Kids, Happy Feet: Encourage physical activity! Active kids tend to have healthier feet. Whether it's walking, running, or playing sports, maintaining an active lifestyle contributes to overall well-being. We're here to support their foot health for a happy and active school year.

🥅⚽ Sports Enthusiasts: If your child is involved in sports, it's essential to address any lower limb concerns promptly. We offer specialised sports podiatry assessments for young athletes to prevent and address issues related to their feet and lower limbs. Let's keep them in the game, performing at their best!

👩‍⚕️💬 Podiatry Assessments: Our experienced podiatrists are here to help! If your child experiences any lower limb complaints, don't hesitate to schedule a podiatry assessment. Early detection and intervention can make a significant difference in their foot health.
