An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at Thornlie Medical Centre. We are a Doctor-owned, non-corporate General Practice dedicated to high quality patient and health care. We are seeking a casual medical receptionist (1-2 days a week) to join our friendly, supportive team. Immediate start.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
-General front desk/ reception duties.
-Meeting and greeting patients and ensuring the smooth flow of patients in the waiting room.
-Booking and adjusting medical appointments appropriately
-Handling and receipting Medicare and Private billings.
-Assisting Doctors and Nurses with their general administrative duties
-Ensuring that the medical centre is maintained in a tidy and presentable manner, including general cleaning duties if required.
Skills and experience:
-Previous experience in administrative duties in General Practice/ Healthcare.
-Intermediate computer skills with knowledge in use of Best Practice or other similar medical software.
-Excellent customer service and communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner.
-Great time management and organisational skills. Able to cope with high volume of phone calls at certain times.
-Ability to adapt to new tasks and fluctuating time pressures.
-Attention to detail.
-Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
-Flexibility to fill in hours and help out with sick and annual leave
