This week’s topic is one of the most important parts of your lymphatic system the small filter stations called lymph nodes.
The Lymph nodes are small organs made of immune cells anf their main job is to:
• filter fluid
• trap bacteria, viruses and toxins
• support your immune system
• reduce swelling and inflammation
They sit along the lymphatic vessels, like little checkpoints.
How they look
In real life, lymph nodes are
• very small (usually 0.5 to 1 cm)
• soft and rubbery
• oval or bean shaped
• light pink or greyish inside the body
• usually grouped in clusters in key areas like the neck, underarms and groin
When they are healthy, you don’t see or feel them. If they swell, they may feel like small lumps under the skin.
