When you’re around someone safe, your gut will relaxe. When something’s off, you might feel tense, lose your appetite, or get an “off” feeling. This isn’t woo-woo - it’s your vagus nerve and gut–brain axis at work

Healthy relationships = healthy nervous system

Chronic stress or unsafe dynamics can disrupt your gut and nervous system

Remember: self-care, boundaries and clear communication help your nervous system feel safe and make your “gut feelings” clearer over time

Gut-Loving Slow Cooked Lamb Tacos - great for meal prep 🌮 🌮 🌮

Ingredients (serves 4-6)

For the lamb 🍖

1.2–1.5kg lamb shoulder (bone in or out)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
4 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp ground coriander
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (gut-loving acid kick!)
400ml grass fed bone broth
Sea salt + cracked pepper

Taco bases (choose your option):

Regular: Soft corn or flour tortillas
Gluten-free: 100% corn tortillas, lettuce cups, or coconut flour tortillas

Accompaniments (mix + match):

- Fermented goodness: Sauerkraut or pickled red onions (great for your microbiome)
- Fresh crunch: Diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, radish slices
- Creamy element: Greek yoghurt or crumbled feta
- Dairy-free swap: Coconut yoghurt
- Healthy fats: Sliced avocado, guacamole
Zesty finish: Fresh coriander, lime wedges, jalapeños if you like spice

Method

- Heat olive oil in a large pan and brown the lamb on all sides.
- Place lamb into a slow cooker with onion, garlic, spices, vinegar, and broth.
- Cook on low for 6–8 hours or until the lamb is fall-apart tender.
- Shred lamb with two forks, stir back into juices, and season to taste.

If you don’t have a slow cooker:

- Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F).
- Place browned lamb, onion, garlic, spices, vinegar, and broth in a heavy ovenproof pot
- Cover with a tight-fitting lid (or foil if you don’t have one).
- Cook for 3.5–4 hours, checking once or twice to make sure there’s enough liquid.
- Shred lamb with two forks, mix through the juices, and serve

Serve in your choice of base with accompaniments layered up to your liking - so delicious, great for meal prep (it's almost even better the next day) and so gut loving!

Are you eating enough protein?

Most people aren’t - and it’s one of the biggest reasons for low energy, constant cravings, poor recovery, and stalled progress in the gym 🏋🏽

Some great protein sources:

Animal proteins (meat, eggs, dairy) = complete amino acids + highly bioavailable 🥩

Plant proteins (beans, lentils, tofu) = great too, but best combined (like lentils + rice) for a full amino acid profile 🍚

Protein powders = helpful to top up but shouldn't be the main source 🥤

Remember, real food comes first!
