Great weekend at WAVE 2026 in Fremantle!

Awesome to connect with optometrists and dispensers from across the country, with growing interest in orthokeratology and custom lenses.

A special shoutout to Candice Sergi, one of our Technical Support gurus, who supports optometrists nationwide in designing patient-specific lenses. She led a fantastic session focused on Myopia control and Gelflex lenses, giving attendees a practical look at the precision and care behind every Gelflex lens and the role Gelflex plays in supporting Optometry practices.

A big thank you to Damon Ezekiel from Ezekiel Eyes for presenting alongside us. Damon delivered a comprehensive session covering what Ortho-K is, ideal patient candidates, and the fitting process — a hugely valuable overview for both new and experienced dispensers.

Also a big thanks to April Petrusma and Chedy Kalach for the invitation to speak and the collaboration — great to connect.

At Gelflex, our focus is supporting Optometrists who are passionate about patient care. Sometimes this requires developing unique solutions to help improve people's lives.

The scleral lens featured was developed with the support of Dr. Ivan Hare in Israel for one of his patients, a 2-month-old infant with a limbal dermoid. His work was all provided pro bono.

The lens helped prevent the development of amblyopia (lazy eye) and allowed the baby to reach an age old enough to safely undergo surgery to remove the dermoid.

This is not the first time Dr. Hare has worked with Gelflex to design a lens with special features and we value his professionalism and commitment to patient care.

Well done to Dr. Hare and to our production team.
