🌊 Manly & Freshwater Carnivals – East Coast Challenge 💪

Our Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club athletes took on the East Coast recently, with 17 competitors travelling to New South Wales to compete at the Manly and Freshwater Carnivals.

Facing some of the toughest surf conditions seen this season — along with logistical challenges and event cancellations due to extreme weather — our athletes showed outstanding resilience, determination and professionalism against top-level competition.

The club kiosk will be open this weekend as normal from 7:30am on both Saturday and Sunday, serving up coffee, snacks and all your favourites to fuel a big beach day ☀️

📣 Calling Nippers Parents – Officials Needed

To allow our athletes to compete at surf sports carnivals, each club is required to supply a minimum number of officials on the day.

Officiating is a great way to support the club — often with the best seat in the house to watch your child compete — while helping ensure events run safely, fairly and smoothly.

No experience is needed. Training and guidance are provided on the day, and parent officials simply need to wear a white shirt.

🌊 All Abilities Woodside Nippers | February Program

This February, Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club is welcoming families to our All Abilities Woodside Nippers Program — a supportive, flexible beach experience designed to help children of all abilities feel confident, capable and connected in the water.

Following the success of our December Come & Try Day, this four-week program has been shaped to meet participants where they’re at, allowing everyone to engage with the beach at their own pace. Sessions are led by trained volunteers and lifesavers, with a strong focus on enjoyment, encouragement and safety.

Running alongside our regular Nippers sessions, the program supports one of our core priorities — building an inclusive surf lifesaving community where everyone belongs.

📅 1, 8, 15 & 22 February
💲 $50 for the full program

Trigg Island SLSC is proud to host Pink Patrol on Sunday 15 March 2026, celebrating the vital role of women in Surf Life Saving and marking 45 years of female participation.

This special patrol will showcase female leadership, teamwork and surf lifesaving skills, with on-beach demonstrations, team activities and a chance to come together and celebrate.

Female members — and male members who actively support women in lifesaving — are invited to be involved.

🌟 Volunteer of the Week: Kimber Radford 🌟

This week, we’re proud to recognise Kimber Radford as our Volunteer of the Week — a quiet achiever whose impact is felt right across Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club.

Kimba consistently gives her time where it’s needed most, from supporting Sunday morning youth programs to assisting with club swim handicapping and water safety. She’s also stepped up for key patrols, including New Year’s Day and Abalone patrols, helping keep our beach and community safe when it matters most.

What truly sets Kimba apart is her attitude — approachable, positive and always willing to lend a hand. She’s the kind of volunteer others love working alongside, and our club is stronger because of her commitment.
