Hello Everyone,
Most of us at some point find ourselves in a conversation with a colleague, friend, family member or neighbour where you become aware they are struggling with their mental health.
Over our lifetime one in two people will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health problem yet a large majority for a variety of reasons will not access help or know how.
They may simply need someone who knows how to listen and possibly have some resources to share.
Mental Health First Aid Training gives you the confidence to engage in mental health conversations , conversations that can make a vital difference in someones life. Sometimes even be life saving.
Mental Health First Aid just like physical first aid has an Action Plan to support you in conversation. Also a manual and guidelines so you know what to do if someone is in crisis with suicidal thoughts, experiencing psychosis or a panic attack.
The Mental Health Station has been training in MHFA for over 20 years. Sydel Weinstein will be facilitating a training AUG. 28th & SEPT 4th located in our Training Room Upstairs at the Fremantle Fibonacci Centre. This is a 12 hour accredited training. Many workplaces now require MHFA. You can find more information on MHFA here: https://mentalhealthstation.org/mental-health-first-aid.
