Many of us grab a slice of salami, a hot dog, or a Tasty Stick aka Twiggy Stick, thinking it’s a convenient and protein-packed snack. But what if that choice comes with a hidden cost to our health?

The Research is Clear:
A 2021 review of 148 studies found that eating processed meat is linked to a 6% higher risk of breast cancer, 18% higher risk of colore**al cancer, 21% higher risk of colon cancer, and 22% higher risk of re**al cancer.

Let’s dig a bit deeper….

Processed meat—like sausages, bacon, cold cuts, canned meats, and jerky—has been salted, cured, fermented, smoked, or preserved to enhance flavor and shelf life. These methods introduce harmful nitrates and nitrites, which can form cancer-causing compounds in the body.

Don’t see in on the package…. Preservative E250 = Sodium Nitrite

Not All Meat is Equal!
If you eat meat, choose healthier options like:
Fresh, unprocessed cuts (grass-fed if possible)
Home-cooked meals over store-bought deli meats
Plant-based protein sources like beans, lentils, nuts & seeds

Food guilt… we’ve all felt it—that little voice in our head after eating something we “shouldn’t” have. But here’s the truth: one meal, one treat, or one moment doesn’t define your health. What truly matters is how you nourish yourself most of the time.

When I’ve learned to let go of the guilt and focused on consistency over perfection, everything changed. My body didn’t fall apart because of one snack—just like it wouldn’t heal from one salad. It’s the daily choices, the kindness we show ourselves, and the way we care for our bodies over time that truly count.

So, if you’re feeling guilty right now, take a deep breath and let it go. You are doing better than you think. 💛✨

Funny? Yes! True? Absolutely—for skydiving. But when it comes to your health, it’s a whole different story.

Health isn’t about getting it “right” on the first try. It’s an ongoing journey of learning, adjusting, and growing. You might not nail every meal, every workout, or every habit from day one—and that’s okay! What matters is consistency, not perfection. 💪🏼

Once upon a time, I might’ve gotten excited about fancy designer shoes, handbags, and pretty dresses... but not anymore. 👜👠✨
These days, bright colors in my dinner make my heart “beet” faster! 😉🥗🍓🥭🥬🫐

Instead of chasing trends, I’m chasing vibrant colors on my plate!

💚 Greens (spinach, broccoli) support energy & detoxification.

💜 Purples & Blues (blueberries & Red cabbage) fuel my brain & fight inflammation.

🤍 Whites (garlic, mushrooms) boost my immune system & keep my gut happy.

Not only am I loading up on Vitamin B, K and C but I am also getting in plenty of fibre to feed my gut microbiome!

When buying or making lunches this week, opt-in for something with plenty of variety and color!
