Me vs Chat GPT

I asked Chat GPT to make me a 12 week workout for over 40’s that combines strength and mobility, like my online program released this week.

Looked great…

Until you look deeper.

The exercise selection wasn’t great.
The rest periods were way off.
The pairings of mobility and strength don't make sense.

It was generic.
Better than nothing.
But not great.

I only know that because I’ve spent 20 years actually coaching people.

Seeing how real human bodies respond to training, stress, injuries, sleep, motivation and life.

And the most important thing AI still can’t do

🔹Keep you accountable when motivation drops.
🔹Adjust when your back flares up or work gets stressful.
🔹Actually care whether you stick with it or not.

Right now if you’re over 40 and trying to get back into training, you’ve got 3 choices.

🔹Do nothing.
Your results will be zero.

🔹Use a generic program, old workouts from your 20’s or an AI-generated plan.

Your results will be average and there’s a good chance you won’t stick with it and you'll be back at step 1.

🔹Work with a coach.
Me or someone else you connect with and who gets you

Highest chance of result

AI might get there one day with exercise programming
But it’s not there yet.

For now…
Use AI for cool images (like I did) and to soften the angry email you are about to send to your boss.

But use a real coach for your body.

Here are three simple ways to add mobility to your workouts

1) Stretch while you rest
2) Do mobility based warm ups rather than cardio
3) Choose exercises that work through full ROM, add pauses and active holds

All over 40’s should add stretching into their workouts.

Most people don’t move enough anymore. Then they try to train like they did at 25 and wonder why everything feels tight, sore or injured.

Mobility work helps you;

• Reduce injuries
• Build more muscle through better movement
• Keep training consistently for years instead of constantly dealing with niggles
