Understanding the new Support at Home program doesnβt have to be complicated π
Itβs now organised into three simple categories, designed to give you the right support at the right time:
1. Clinical Care (Fully Funded)
This covers essential medical and health services to help you stay well at home.
β Nursing care (wound care, medication management)
β Allied health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy)
β Continence and nutrition support
π From October 2026, personal care like showering, dressing, and toileting will also be fully funded under this category.
2. Independence Support
Focused on helping you stay active, independent, and socially connected.
β Help with daily activities (mobility, eating)
β Social support (outings, companionship, tech help)
β Therapeutic services (massage, art therapy)
β Transport and short-term respite care
3. Everyday Living
Practical support to keep your home safe, clean, and comfortable.
β Domestic assistance (cleaning, laundry, errands)
β Meal preparation
β Gardening and home maintenance
β Assistive technology (walking aids, smart devices)
β Home modifications (ramps, handrails, accessible bathrooms)
β¨ There are also special programs, like restorative care and end-of-life care, offering extra support when you need it most.
This new system is designed to be simpler, more flexible, and centred around youβso you can continue living safely and independently at home.
