Valetudo are specialists at providing exercise physiology, dietetics, remedial massage therapy, athlete coaching and group fitness sessions. The Rossmoyne facility boasts a pool that can be utilised for therapy and well equipped modern private gym. The Valetudo Fitness and Physio team are very passionate about finding pathways for our clients to improve their quality of life and explore a new level of health and fitness. STEPHANO ⚽️

Stephano is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), and holds degrees in both Exercise and Sport Science, and Exercise Rehabilitation. He draws on knowledge gained through tertiary studies, along with experience in private gyms and fitness centres, to provide tailored exercise programs in both individual and group settings.

In addition to this, Stephano has gained valuable experience in the role of a sport science coordinator for NTC program with Football West and enables him to provide sport-specific strength and conditioning programs to his clients. The NTC program is a specialised pathway for player development and national talent identification and consists of multiple squads of young female athletes. In this role, Stephano manages training and matchday load, and oversees the strength and conditioning aspect of the program, ensuring players are ready for national tournaments and international matches.

Through his personal and professional experience, Stephano is passionate about using exercise therapy to improve the physical health, well-being, and functional capacity of his clients. When not working, Stephano enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, and playing sports, mainly tennis and football.

Kate grew up in the Perth hills (Mundaring) and enjoys being amongst the outdoors, running or hiking in nature.
Kate has completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy through North Metropolitan TAFE. Kate offers a variety of treatment modalities and techniques for soft tissue manual therapy, including myofascial release, sports massage, trigger point therapy, functional cupping, deep tissue massage, joint mobilisation and sports taping.

Kate has experience providing treatments for a variety of athletes including Perth Glory women’s team, Perth Scorchers Cricket men and women’s teams, WAIS WA synchronised swim team, running events, Busselton Ironman and the Dwellingup 100 MTB race.

In her spare time you will most likely find Kate training for Ultra Marathons, she has completed several distances solo including MRU, UTA 100, Transcend, Birdys and Herdys backyards, 70.3 Ironman and the Rottnest Channel Swim duo.

TYPES OF INTCONTINENCE IN MEN

There are different types of incontinence. Stress incontinence is when activities such as sneezing, coughing, laughing, lifting and exercise lead to leaking. Urgency incontinence is when a sudden urge to urinate occurs and you may be unable to get to the bathroom in time. There is also leakage without warning, where you may experience leakage without urgency, when standing up from a chair for example. Finally post-void dribbling, which is where urine continues to dribble or drip following a trip to the bathroom.

Appropriate individualised exercise prescription has been shown to significantly decrease the likelihood of urinary incontinence in men, especially when done pre- and post-surgery. As decline in pelvic floor and core function is a contributor, exercise that focus on strengthening and ensuring appropriate activation during day to day activities should be a focus.

Shane is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with over 12 years experience holding a Masters degree in Occupational Rehabilitation and Workplace Injury Management along with a Bachelor of Science (Sport Science), Bachelor of Business (Sport Management), Certificate IV in Safety, Certificate IV Healthcare (Pre-Ambulance) and Certificate IV in Training, Assessment and Evaluation. Shane draws from his diverse previous work experiences as an Exercise Physiologist in a Rehabilitation Clinic, Vocational Rehabilitation setting, Researcher for Edith Cowan University, Strength & Conditioning coach for WAFL Football and State teams, Lifestyle Coordinator on remote mine sites, Health Consultant for corporate companies and the Content Developer of a Men’s eHealth Network to provide a holistic health approach for his clients.

Shane’s main area of service focus is musculoskeletal injuries under the WA Workers Compensation act.

Shane is an endurance sport enthusiast, now primarily trail running. Shane has trekked to Base Camp of Mt Everest, completed the Kokoda Trail and reached the summit of Mt Rinjani. Shane in April 2018 ran the 1005km Bibbulmun Track from Albany to Kalamunda in 11 days 7 hours and 8 minutes.
