Breast Cancer Research Centre - WA

A not-for-profit organisation undertaking high quality breast cancer research through our clinical trials unit.

Research + Treatment + Support all in the one world class centre based at Hollywood Consulting Centre BCRC-WA is a registered charity based at Hollywood Consulting Centre. We are a world leader in breast cancer research, treatment and support. Comprising surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, nursing, genetics, allied health and clinical research staff who are involved in the care of men and women diagnosed with breast cancer. An integral part of providing the highest stand of care to patients diagnosed with breast cancer is the ability to involve patients in clinical trials and offer the most up to date treatments. At least 17 of our trials have contributed to enhancement of breast cancer treatment globally. Clinical Trials are the only way to find out which new approaches to cancer treatments will work better than the existing ones. We are the busiest Clinical Trials Unit in Australia per number of staff and the number of patients seen. We deliver broad based education such as Chemo Wise information sessions for people about to start their treatment, our PYNKS group (for women who have metastatic disease), our quarterly newsletter and the Power Of Words which is written by Breast Cancer Patients. Our breast clinic allows patients to self-refer and gain access to rapid diagnosis and treatment to the highest level. This is complemented by a full suite of leading support services.

Keep up with your regular checks, book that GP visit, and check in on friends who are navigating their journey with breast cancer.

Remember breast cancer can affect anyone, at all ages and men. Awareness, support, and early detection matter all year round🤝

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, take a moment to prioritise your health with our Guide to Monthly Self Breast Checks. Share this reminder!

Here’s what you can do this month:
�CHECK: Prioritise early detection. This means not only performing regular self-exams to know your body

�CONNECT: Share this post and make someone remind someone to take a moment for a self-check next time they’re in the shower or getting ready for the day

�CHOOSE: Be an informed advocate. Choose a date to schedule your mammogram (especially if you're over 40) and choose to share reliable resources with your network to amplify the message of prevention.
