We are excited to release our 2024-2025 Annual Report, which features our people and work across our eight locations, as well as the projects and initiatives which are helping us support more young people across WA.

Of course, we haven't done this on our own, and we are so grateful for the ongoing support and trust of our community which allows us to do what we do.

Pride Month in Perth Metro was filled with joyful moments and meaningful connections!

We kicked off at headspace Midland’s Pride Prom: A Night Among the Stars, celebrating with dancing, creativity and plenty of colour. Then we joined in at the PrideFest Fairday, chatting with the community about ‘What Pride Means to Them’ and celebrating everything Pride represents.

Such a fun month for our teams and the community.

The new social media restrictions come into effect on 10 December, and there's been a lot of discussion, advice and information in our feeds and in the media about what this will mean for young people.

For some young people, the changes will understandably bring up feelings of confusion, worry, or frustration.

If you have a young person in your life who will be impacted by the social media restrictions, here some tips to help support them through this change, now and in the months ahead.

Today is International Day of People with Disability.

Mental health challenges can sometimes be a hidden disability. When something isn’t visible, it’s easy to make assumptions. That’s why open, honest conversations matter - they help us understand what someone is going through and what support could help.

Here is a reminder that everyone experiences disability differently, so the support that works best will also be different for each person.

Today marks the beginning of 16 Days in WA - starting on the 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, continuing through to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

This annual campaign calls on individuals, workplaces, and communities across Western Australia to take action in preventing family, domestic and sexual violence.

We all play a part in stopping family and domestic violence. Play your part by supporting those around you, remembering that help and support is always available.

This month, our Metro IPS Coordinator, Katie Llewell, attended Orygen's event in Melbourne celebrating 20 years of Individual Placement and Support (IPS).

The event brought together key partners to reflect on the growth of IPS, its impact so far, and what's next for the future of the model.

This was also an opportunity for the first in-person gathering of the IPS Asia Pacific Learning Community, of which Youth Focus is a founding member. An exciting chance to discuss future priorities and how to continue to strengthen collaboration across the region.

The event as an exciting milestone - celebrating the difference IPS has made for young people and exploring the opportunities to grow this impact in the future.

After extensive development and consultation with young people, carers, and staff, we are proud to share the Outcome and Impact Model.

The model is now being implemented across our locations, helping us ensure that everything we do - from service reviews and data collection to communication and organisational focus - works towards our vision, a world where a young person’s mental health doesn’t get in the way of being who they want to be.

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to walk alongside a young person as they navigate their life. You'll offer guidance, encouragement, and a steady, supportive presence when it matter most.

Plus, you might find that you learn something along the way as well.

If you're passionate about helping young people feel confident and making a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you.
