WHAT A YEAR
✨ Looking back on 2025 at Little Stars Therapy ✨

As we step into 2026, we’ve been looking back at a year that was full, fast, and meaningful.

2025 was a year of growth.
Growth in skills.
Growth in confidence.
Growth in connection.

It was also a year that sometimes felt like working inside The Matrix — navigating systems, timeframes, paperwork, and constant change — all while keeping children and families at the centre of everything we do.

And honestly? We’re really proud of what we achieved.

Throughout 2025, we had the privilege of working alongside incredible Little Stars and the amazing people around them. We took the time to truly understand how each individual communicates — not just where support was needed, but what strengths made each child uniquely wonderful.

This year, we were proud to:
• Support meaningful changes in communication, confidence, and participation
• Complete functional communication assessments that reflect real life
• Run AAC trials and support successful device prescriptions
• Help children understand that therapy isn’t about testing or forcing — it’s about helping them share what’s important to them
And have a whole lot of fun while we did this (and coffee)

Our work extended well beyond the therapy room.

We supported families, educators, and everyday communication partners to feel confident using tools and strategies together.
We helped little littles connect with their parents in ways that worked for their family.
We supported transitions into new schools and environments.
We built language, speech production and early literacy skills to support a love of school.
We helped families put support teams in place when no one else had.

Through all the moving parts, one thing stayed constant:
our commitment to helping children communicate, connect, and take part in what matters to them.

Every assessment, every strategy, every report, every conversation exists for that reason.

2025 mattered.

We’re heading into 2026 clear on who we are, confident in how we work, and unapologetically focused on what matters most: our Little Stars ❤️

BEST conference to “attend” well virtually in years. So much more practical real information as well as lived experience than other seminars / conferences. Because it’s not just about the research (although that is important as well) it’s about life!!!! 🌟

How do we know what AAC system is right for a child? 💭💬

At Little Stars Therapy, we believe the best way is to ask them — even if they don’t speak.

This visual is one way we support our non-speaking Little Stars to show us what they think about different AAC software (like TouchChat or Snap Core First) and devices (like TD Navio or a Speech Case).

🌟 We use simple responses like “yes”, “no”, or “unsure”
🌟 We watch their reactions — not just what they tap, but how they feel
🌟 We honour their preferences — because they deserve a say in how they communicate

AAC isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s about finding the right fit for your child, together.
