The 2026 Flow Conference is built around one question.

When adversity hits, a setback at work, an injury, a crisis at home, a market that turns, what makes the difference between people who fold and people who find a new way through?

The science points at flow.

Not as a feel-good state. As a doorway. People in flow recover faster, see options others miss, and make decisions under pressure that look obvious in hindsight.

So this year we're bringing together the researchers and practitioners who've spent their careers on this question. Two days in Dublin, Ireland. Two keynotes, two panels, two workshops, six presentations, and a Flow Challenge that puts the theory in your body.

Theme: Turning Adversity into Opportunity.

5–6 July 2026. In person or online. Online live-stream access is free.

Let's talk flow. Join us.

Two of the most important flow researchers working today open Flow Conference 2026 from opposite sides of the same question.

Dr Sue Jackson is a sport psychologist based in Brisbane. The Flow State Scale she built with Herbert Marsh in 1996 is still the instrument behind most quantitative flow research the field runs on. She co-authored Flow in Sports with Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi in 1999.

Prof. Antonella Delle Fave is a Full Professor at the University of Milan and past President of the International Positive Psychology Association. She holds the largest international dataset on flow under real adversity: acquired disability, chronic illness, forced migration. Her finding, in her own words: "following a disabling event that causes a breach with one's previous lifestyle, flow transformation may occur."

Their joint keynote takes the title of our 2026 theme word for word: "From Difficulty to Opportunity: Finding Flow Experience in the Face of Adversity."

Watch the short video where they introduce it themselves. Then book your seat. The keynote room is intimate by design and fills early.

Sunday 5 July, Glenview Hotel, Wicklow.

Most of us have been there.

A moment at work where the thinking just flowed. A training session that felt effortless. An afternoon with people you love where time stopped mattering.
We call it a good day and move on. But it's more than that.

Flow is a real, measurable state, and there's decades of research on what puts us there. The short version: you can get better at it. You don't have to wait for it to happen.

That's what Flow Centre is about. Come see what we're building.
