👋 Hi everyone!

I’m Lizzy, and I’m so excited to be part of the team here at So to Speak 💛

Supporting families and creating smooth, positive experiences is something I’m truly passionate about. My background is in administration, human resources and systems, and I’m currently studying Speech Pathology at ECU as I transition into a new chapter in allied health.

Working in speech therapy has been a long-standing goal of mine, so being part of this team feels incredibly meaningful. I love being able to support families from their very first interaction with our clinic, helping you feel informed, confident and at ease every step of the way.

I understand how important it is to feel supported when navigating your child’s journey, and I’m here to help make that experience as seamless and positive as possible.

I’m really looking forward to welcoming you into our clinic and being part of your journey with us 💫

Let’s give Lizzy a very warm So to Speak welcome! 💛

🧡 Happy Harmony Day! 🌏

Today is a beautiful reminder that our differences are something to celebrate. The many cultures, languages and traditions in our community make it richer, brighter and more connected.

At So to Speak, we see every day how communication helps children learn about each other, build friendships and feel like they truly belong. 💬

Here are some simple ways to celebrate with your little ones today:
🌏 Learn how to say “hello” in another language
📚 Read a story from a different culture
🎨 Create artwork inspired by your family’s heritage
🍲 Talk about a favourite cultural meal at home

Every voice, every story and every culture adds something special to our community. 🧡

Tell us about your cultural heritage in the comments!

Every mind experiences the world in its own way.🌈

Neurodiversity reminds us that differences in how we think, learn and communicate are a natural part of being human. These differences bring creativity, new ideas and fresh ways of understanding the world around us.

It also teaches us an important lesson about inclusion. When children grow up learning that everyone belongs, no matter how their brain works, they grow into adults who create kinder, more accepting communities.

By helping children understand and include people who think and communicate differently, we’re not just supporting individuals, we’re shaping a world where every mind is valued. 💛

Parenting is beautiful, rewarding… and sometimes really hard. 😅

There are days when communication feels effortless, and other days when your child struggles to express themselves, gets frustrated, or you find yourself wondering if you’re doing enough.

At So to Speak, we want families to know that you are not alone in this journey.
Supporting a child’s communication and development isn’t about being perfect, it’s about:
✨ Being present
✨ Listening and connecting
✨ Celebrating the small wins
✨ Seeking support when you need it

Every word learned, every attempt to communicate, and every little step forward is something worth celebrating. 💬

We are here to support not just children, but the incredible parents and families walking beside them every day.

🎉🎂 Happy Birthday Tania! 🎂🎉

Today we’re celebrating the incredible Tania, the Director of So to Speak and the amazing boss lady behind it all! 💛

Tania’s passion for helping children find their voice and supporting families every step of the way is at the heart of everything we do. Her dedication, kindness and leadership have created a space where both our team and the families we work with feel supported, encouraged and inspired.

Thank you for your vision, your guidance, and for always leading with such warmth and heart. We are so grateful to have you as our leader.

Wishing you a wonderful birthday filled with love, laughter and a little time to celebrate you! 🥳✨

Happy Birthday, Tania! 💛

👋 Hi everyone!

I’m Dolores, Allied Health Assistant at So to Speak, and supporting children and families has always been something I feel deeply passionate about 💛

I hold my Allied Health Assistant qualification and also bring many years of experience in massage therapy, which has given me a strong understanding of movement, regulation and body awareness. I love being able to use this knowledge to support children in a holistic and practical way.

While living in South Africa, I ran a baby sensory program for mums and their babies, which really sparked my passion for early childhood development. It was such a special experience supporting parents with practical tools and watching their confidence grow as they supported their little ones.

As a mum of three, I understand the many stages of childhood, from those early developmental milestones through to connecting with teenagers and helping them feel supported and understood. This lived experience helps me connect with both children and parents in a meaningful way.

Families often describe me as calm, fun and motivating, and I always aim to create a positive, encouraging space where children feel confident and parents feel supported every step of the way.

When I’m not working with families, you’ll usually find me spending time with my children and enjoying the little moments that come with family life 💫

Let’s give Dolores a very warm So to Speak welcome! 💛

Some days in this work are beautiful. Some days are hard. Some days we leave feeling full… and other days completely exhausted.

But even on the days that feel like giving up, something inside us keeps us going.

This International Women’s Day, I feel incredibly grateful for the amazing women who make up the So To Speak family. Every day they show up with compassion, patience, knowledge and heart to support the children and families we work with.

Today we also celebrate the women who walk alongside the children we see — the mums, grandmothers, carers and teachers who continue to advocate, nurture and believe in their kids.

Because the truth is…

“We’re women, honey — the strength finds us.”

Happy International Women’s Day 💛

🌟 Resource Spotlight: Critter Clinic! 🌟

Wooden Car Ramp 🚗

Simple toys often create the biggest learning opportunities and this one is a clinic favourite!

The Wooden Car Ramp Toy is fantastic for supporting:
💬 language development (go, stop, ready… set… go!)
🧠 cause and effect understanding
👉 joint attention and turn-taking
🎯 early requesting and commenting
🚙 sound imitation and play-based interaction

Its repetitive, predictable movement keeps little ones engaged while creating endless opportunities for modelling language, building anticipation, and encouraging interaction through play.

Plus it’s durable, visually engaging, and perfect for both independent exploration and therapist-led play 💛
