🙌🏼💝Support for older regional West Australians have been boosted with new funding towards accommodation for staff at in Geraldton and Fitzroy Crossing.

Regional WA faces unique challenges in providing aged care services, such as the housing shortage and higher building and materials costs.

Providing staff accommodation is big step towards attracting and retaining high quality staff to provide compassionate and expert care throughout the regions.

Mollie turns 100!

One of our residents at Juniper Hillcrest Residential Aged Home, Mollie Parson, celebrated a very special milestone, turning 100 yesterday.

Her family travelled from across WA to celebrate the milestone with Mollie.

Mollie met her late husband, Ted, while working for the Department of Lands and married in 1952. The family moved to Geraldton in 1971 and were married for more than six decades when Ted passed away in 2014.

The mother of four, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of six has a positive philosophy on living.

Mollie’s inspiring story has today seen her prominent across the state’s news!

🌟🌟🌟It's exciting times in Fitzroy Crossing with works well underway on new accommodation for Juniper staff at Guwardi Ngadu Residential Aged Care Home.🌟🌟🌟

Being built on land leased from the Bunuba Operations Aboriginal Corporation, the development includes eight one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom modular units.

During the past month, plumbing and power have been connected, whitegoods installed, and solar hot water systems added to the new units.

Structural works to build verandas, BBQ areas and a carport will go ahead soon.

Set to provide comfortable, permanent housing for our amazing team in the region, the development is partially funded by a Federal Government Grant with co-contributions by Juniper.

Juniper Hayloft residents capped off a fun visit to the Swan Valley with a cappuccino. ☕😋👏😊🙌

The recent trip to Yahava KoffeeWorks Swan Valley included a stroll around The Roastery and The Tea Shed, followed by the all-important cake and a coffee.

With this year's theme being “Nobody can do it alone”, we look at how Juniper can support people living with dementia across WA and their families.

When a loved one has been diagnosed with dementia, it can be a hugely emotional and uncertain time for everyone. However, it’s important to consider that many people with dementia can continue leading active, fulfilling lives after their diagnosis.

Residents at Juniper John Bryant in Marangaroo recently showed their artistic flair during a greeting card workshop. 🖼️💖🍓🦋

The craft session hosted by Juniper Therapy Assistant Vimal and Juniper Volunteer Trish resulted in a beautiful series of cards featuring strawberries and butterflies.

It was a fun activity where everyone could express their creative side and share the results with friends and loved ones.

Today at Juniper Central, we held a R U OK? Day staff get together to talk about how conversations with colleagues, family and friends can make a huge difference. 👋🫸🫷🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

After enjoying a delicious R U OK? Day cupcake and a catch up, everyone took part in the 'Wall of Support' activity.

It was a fantastic way for staff to share their go-to activities that they do for themselves when things aren't ok. A big thanks to everyone for getting involved.

Before we wrap up the annual World Physiotherapy Day celebrations, we asked Juniper Physiotherapist about her role and why she enjoys it so much.

Originally from Gujakat on the western coast of India, Vrunda completed her physiotherapy qualifications in 2015 and went onto work in an Ahmedabad hospital for several years, supporting paediatric and aged care clients.

In 2022, Vrunda moved to Perth and before long landed a role as a part time Therapy Assistant with Juniper.

With support from Juniper’s Allied Health team, Vrunda embarked on securing her Australian physiotherapist accreditation from Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA).

Since securing her accreditation in mid-2024, she divides her time supporting Juniper customers at the Transition Care Program (TCP) in Karrinyup and with home visits.

“It’s satisfying as physiotherapist, as you feel proud of yourself when you see people achieving their goals, you feel you have achieved something in your life,” she said.

As it's World Physiotherapy Day, here are some fascinating facts about Juniper's dedicated team of physios who are doing amazing work around the state. 👏🙌😊

* Juniper has a team of 16 physiotherapists

* Juniper physios are currently servicing five community regions in WA (Perth metro, East Kimberley, Wheatbelt, Great Southern and Goldfields) and Juniper’s Transition Care Program sites around the metro area

* Juniper physios provided 12,240hrs of physiotherapy during the past financial year across all regions and settings.

What an incredible effort. Thank you to each and every Juniper physio for all they do to support our customers.
