A cancer diagnosis can change everything in an instant.
Suddenly you’re having complex conversations, making life-changing decisions, and trying to absorb large amounts of information... all while you're likely feeling shocked, overwhelmed, or afraid.
One of the most important (and underestimated) parts of your cancer journey is your relationship with your oncologist.
Not because your oncologist holds ALL the answers, but because being able to speak to them confidently means you can really understand your options, ask better questions, and have an active role in decisions about your treatments. 💪
Many people assume they shouldn’t question their oncologist's recommendations or ask for more explanation.
You need to remember: this is your body, and your choice.
You are allowed to:
• Ask questions and keep asking until you understand
• Seek second or third opinions
• Ask about all available treatment options, including clinical trials
• Take time to make informed decisions
• Combine conventional oncology with supportive therapies where appropriate
Don't be shy - your life literally depends on you being fully informed.
And unfortunately there is no such thing as a magic pill.
The best possible outcomes are often a result of taking a holistic, integrative approach, meaning medical care alongside targeted supplementation, emotional support, evidence-based diet protocols, complementary therapies and personalised guidance to navigate it all.
Eddie Enever works with people navigating cancer to help them feel informed, supported and empowered. His approach focuses on the individual with cancer, and what you can do to improve your chances of the best possible outcome.
If you’re preparing for oncology appointments, or supporting a loved one through cancer, Eddie has created a free resource to help.
