Christmas can be “the most wonderful time of the year” and it can also be one of the most intensely stressful times too! 🤯😳😤

Deadlines, family dynamics, financial stress, and the constant mental load can easily compound.

Acupuncture with Randa is a chance to press pause.

An hour where you don’t need to hold it all.

With her expert care and relaxing music playing, your body can soften, your breath can slow down, and your nervous system can actually reset.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do during the festive season is stop, rest, and let yourself be cared for.

✨ Book in some time for yourself before Christmas.

You might not think we have an air pollution problem in Australia, but with traffic, smoke haze, household chemicals, dust… even on days that look “clear”, our bodies have to work hard to protect us.

In this reel, Val shares about a recent study from UTS highlighting benefits of Vitamin C.

We’ve just published a new blog exploring:
• what recent research says about Vitamin C and air pollution
• signs you may be low in Vitamin C
• different forms of supplementation and which are better absorbed
• when IV Vitamin C therapy may be helpful
• a brief note on microplastics and oxidative stress

If you’ve been feeling run down, inflamed, or slow to recover, this is a simple place to start.

👉 Read the full blog via the link in our bio.

Our team can also guide you on personalised supplementation or IV therapy if needed.

On 1 July 2025, the Federal Government reinstated eligibility of private health insurance rebates for several natural therapies, including Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine.

Patients and Practitioners of naturopathy are celebrating this major shift, after the government previously removed eligibility for rebates in 2019.

Private Health Insurance (PHI) funds are currently determining how, when and which services they will cover.

Now that regulations have changed, and the overall framework has been approved, each PHI must now develop its own provider recognition process, item codes and eligibility criteria.

Unfortunately, this means benefits will not available immediately.

According to the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) update, health funds expect to begin recognising approved services from April 2026, and rebates will start once each fund finalises its provider processes and accreditation requirements.

Here at PNMC we are grateful for the work ANTA has been doing behind the scenes to make this possible and support the transition to reinstating rebates for naturopathy.

If you are coming up to a renewal with your health fund, or shopping around, we recommend checking with your fund directly about their plans and criteria for providing rebates and whether your current cover will include these reinstated rebates for naturopathy. 🌿

Weight lifting and resistance training are usually associated with the aesthetics- looking good 😊 or with performance - think athletes.

But there’s so much research to show lifting weights plays a much bigger role in your health and wellbeing - beyond the obvious physical strength and fitness.

Swipe to see some of the unexpected benefits and also how our team can help - whether you’re regularly working out now (and want to get stronger or avoid injury) or if you’re just getting started - or restarted after illness, injury, or a break for other reasons.

It’s worth the effort 💪

WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH IS CHALLENGED THROUGH LIFE TRANSITIONS - Why Naturopathic Support Matters

Women move through distinct biological transitions: puberty, pregnancy, motherhood, perimenopause and menopause. Each stage brings huge physical, emotional and mental shifts driven by hormones, gut changes, nutrient demands and the stress response.

Just like puberty, perimenopause is not something to “fix.” But understanding what’s happening physiologically helps women navigate mood changes, anxiety, energy fluctuations, sleep disturbances and emotional overwhelm with more clarity and support.

HORMONAL SHIFTS AND MENTAL HEALTH 🎢
Hormones influence mood, energy, motivation, sleep and emotional stability. During transitional stages, rapid changes can create real psychological challenges:

🔹 Puberty → mood swings, irritability, anxiety
🔹 Postpartum → sudden drop in oestrogen and progesterone linked to anxiety and depression
🔹 Perimenopause → hormone fluctuations causing low mood, irritability, anxiety, sleep issues

Naturopathic care uses custom blends of herbal medicine and nutrients like magnesium and B vitamins, to naturally support hormonal balance.

THE GUT-BRAIN CONNECTION 🧠
The gut microbiome communicates directly with the brain. When oestrogen fluctuates, gut flora shift too, influencing digestion, inflammation and emotional regulation.

🔹 Hormonal changes can disrupt gut balance
🔹 Imbalanced microbiome is linked to anxiety and depression
🔹 Many women experience digestive changes in perimenopause and menopause

Naturopaths support gut health with specific probiotics, personalised nutrition and therapeutic nutrients to stabilise mood and digestion.

CHRONIC STRESS, CORTISOL AND THE EMOTIONAL LOAD 😭🤯
Life transitions often coincide with increased stress, raising cortisol levels and affecting mental well-being:

🔹 High cortisol disrupts sleep
🔹 Stress impacts hormone balance
🔹 Overwhelm can worsen anxiety and mood swings

Adaptogens like Rhodiola, Holy Basil and Ashwagandha, along with acupuncture, meditation and psychotherapy, can all help to regulate stress and build nervous-system resilience.

SUPPORTING WOMEN HOLISTICALLY AT PNMC 🦋

Our practitioners at Perth Natural Medical Clinic treat women’s transitional phases with a whole-body approach. Naturopathy alongside IV drip therapy, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, psychotherapy or remedial massage therapy can assist with:

🔹 Hormone optimisation
🔹 Gut health & microbiome stability
🔹 Nervous system regulation
🔹 Stress recovery
🔹 Increased nutrient absorption

When the body is supported at its foundations, women move through life transitions with greater ease, clarity and emotional steadiness.

If you’re navigating puberty, perimenopause, menopause, postpartum changes, or a major life transition and noticing shifts in your mental health, our team is here to support you with personalised, compassionate care.🌿

Val was not surprised - just determined!

We’re sure plenty of the doctors and nurses were shocked at her fast recovery though! 🤭

Today Val wanted to thank her lovely patients for their care and let you all know the not-so-secret formula to her healing. 🌿

With the festive season and all it’s temptations, you might want to save this one!

If you’re feeling bloated after meals, waking up with a puffy tummy, or noticing your digestion feels “off” lately, you’re not alone.

Bloating is one of the most common concerns we see at PNMC, and the good news is that there are simple steps that can make a big difference.

Swipe through for 5 practical ways to reduce bloating and support healthier digestion 👇
✨ Start your day with lemon water or ACV
✨ Move your body to support motility
✨ Reduce your sugar intake to rebalance gut bacteria
✨ Test for allergies or sensitivities if symptoms persist
✨ Practise mindfulness around eating to tune in to what your body needs

These tips are a great place to start, but persistent bloating can sometimes point to deeper issues like food intolerances, dysbiosis, low stomach acid, parasites, sluggish liver function or chronic stress patterns.

If your gut has been trying to tell you something, our naturopath Sam Botica can help you get to the root cause and create a personalised plan to restore balance.
