A little more detail about us:

Lymph Motion is a small private practice, where continued professional development and involvement in related interest groups are valued and considered integral. This connection with the broader lymphoedema community provides a learning and sharing opportunity with other lymphoedema and allied health practitioners. Based in Morley, opposite the Galleria Shopping Centre, Lymph Motion offers oedema and lymphoedema treatment by an accredited therapist. Kim Lauren is an Occupational Therapist and a lymphoedema therapist. Kim is Vodder School trained in manual lymph drainage (MLD) and combined decongestive therapy (CDT). The Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) recognise the successful completion of these post graduate studies, registering Kim on the National Lymphoedema Practitioners Register (NLPR). This accreditation and registration on the NLPR is recognised by the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), entitling eligible DVA clients to bulk bill their MLD treatments and some bandaging expenses. For clients with private health cover, rebates may be redeemed for MLD treatments, depending on their level of cover and health fund. Alternatively, clients may be eligible under Medicare for treatments, when referred by their GP and have a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement. Please note however, that a referral is not required to engage in the services offered by Lymph Motion. If you would like to learn a little more about our treatments please visit our website at www.lymphmotion.com.au

Good morning! The clinic is back open and with all the measurements in place for a safe return, in line with government regulations. Just a reminder you will need to check in with the Safe WA app, or written log, and wear a mask. If you would like to retune yourself in, here is a great on line activity courtesy of the amazing team at Solaris. Tomorrow, Tuesday 6th July... Namaste...

On Tuesday, we'll have a special lunch-hour live (free!) Meditation that you are welcome to join from the comfort of your home or wherever else you are.

Supported by a professional facilitator and long-term cancer survivor Cathy Brown, this is your chance to take a breather and be present in our very chaotic world.

Another great way to get in tune with your body is through mindful breathing. While it’s not for everyone, many people will find that mindfulness helps them to become more present and aware of what they are doing and where they are instead of being focused on yesterday, tomorrow, or worries.

Try a free app like Smiling Mind or follow the instructions below:

🧘 Sit in a comfortable spot with few distractions
🧘 Put on a timer
🧘 Close your eyes
🧘 Breathe in through your nose for the count of four seconds, hold for two seconds and then breathe out through your mouth for the count of six seconds
🧘 Focus on your breath entering and leaving your body
🧘 Once you feel settled, start to bring your attention to the interaction between your breath and your body. For example, is the air a bit cooler when entering through your nose and a bit warmer when leaving your body? How does it feel when the air enters your lungs? Notice the rise and fall of your belly as the air moves in and out
🧘 If you are distracted by thoughts or feelings, this is ok – it’s perfectly normal! Don’t try to push the thoughts away, just allow them to drift past like a cloud and gently bring your attention back to your breathing
🧘 Continue with this until the timer goes off
